Duane Henry was born in Birmingham, England on 19 March 1985, so under the zodiac sign of Pisces and holding British nationality – he rose to stardom thanks to his career as an actor, especially for his role of the MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves in the “NCIS” (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) TV series.
Why did Duane Henry leave NCIS?
Most people believed that Duane was not getting along with the rest of the cast of “NCIS”, and thought that this was the reason behind the death of his character in the series. However, both Duane and the producers addressed the matter and explained how after the death of “NCIS” showrunner Gary Glasberg, they were not sure what to do with Duane’s character, and eventually decided to write him out of the series after season 15.
Childhood and education
Duane spent his entire childhood in the West Midlands in a working class family – he hasn’t talked about his parents as he doesn’t want them involved in the media, but it is known that he was raised solely by his mother who gave birth to him at the age of 16, and that he hasn’t met his father. Duane and his mother spent some time being homeless.
Duane attended the Saint Francis Catholic Primary School in Birmingham, and then switched to St. John Wall School located in Handsworth from which he eventually matriculated. After that, Duane enrolled at Dudley College to study drama, and moved to London at the age of 17 to work on his acting career – it is not known whether or not he has received his bachelor’s degree.
Duane fell in love with acting at a very early age, as he kept on watching TV series late at night together with his mother. It was him dream to become an actor one day, and while his mother supported him, she believed this to be a childish dream which would eventually go away. He started working very early so that he could help his mother financially – he was selling shoes on Oxford Street, London and then found a job in a theatre located in Leicester Square, however, he was fired for, as he has explained it, ‘daydreaming and practicing his autograph’.
Career of an actor
Duane’s career of an actor was officially launched in 2004, when he won a role in “The Afternoon Play” TV anthology series, alongside Samantha Janus. His performance opened new doors for Duane, and he went on to appear in numerous TV dramas, including but not limited to “Doctor Who”, “The Bill”, and “The Cut” – he was praised for his acting skills in “The Cut” and it won him a nomination for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Screen National Award for Best Emerging Talent in 2010.
Duane’s first big role and his longest one was in the “Doctors” medical soap opera, in which he played Gareth Broadhurst from 2005 to 2013 – Gareth was a soldier suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder. After the series ended, he moved to Los Angeles in November 2013 and took a year off acting to work on his American English, but then went on auditioning for numerous roles in movies, including “Shades of Blue”.
He won the role for which he is mostly popular today in May 2016, when he was cast to appear as Clayton Reeves, an MI6 agent, in the “NCIS” police procedural TV series.
He was only supposed to appear in two episodes, but the producers decided to give him an option to join the main cast for the show’s 14th season, and Duane stayed in the show during both 14th and 15th seasons, when his character was killed in the 22nd episode entitled “Two Steps Back”.
The last movie which Duane was cast in is entitled “A Gingerbread Romance” shot in 2018, playing the role of Adam.

Duane is very secretive when it comes to his love life, as he prefers to keep his personal matters to himself rather than to share them with the public.
He’s talked about his ex-girlfriend on only one occasion – he published a tweet on his Twitter account looking back at the life he had while he was still working on his career as an actor, and stated how his long-term girlfriend passed away shortly before he won his role in the “NCIS” TV series. The role, as it was time consuming, helped him cope with his loss and dragged his thoughts away from the problems he was having.
Although there are some rumors circulating the internet that Duane is currently seeing a mysterious woman, he hasn’t talked about this and it appears that he might still be mourning his ex-girlfriend.
