He is now a well-known neurosurgeon, who attended Medical School at the University of Michigan, from which he obtained his masters degree in 1993, and then studied neuroscience also at the University of Michigan. He completed his internship in Memphis, and presently he’s working at Grady Memorial Hospital, and is also Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN. Rebecca Olson met her partner in Michigan, they soon started dating, and quickly became engaged. They didn’t need much time to come to a conclusion that they were perfect for each other – Sanjay wrote a long love poem to Rebecca, which was actually ended with a proposal.

They married in Shell House at Ashley Hall in Charleston at a private school for girls on 15th of May 2004. Since they were following Hindu tradition, the bride wore Lehenga and a choli and the groom a sherwani (traditional Hindu clothing). Some of the Hindu rituals that they followed are: taking vows and going around the fire which is called pheré, applying the red sindoor on the bride’s head or filling of maang, applying turmeric to both the bride and groom, or as it is called in Hindi haldi rasam.
