Janice Dean Wiki Bio

Janice was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 9 May 1970 – her zodiac sign is Taurus, and she holds both Canadian and American nationality. She’s a meteorologist, author and TV show host, who’s perhaps known best for the work which she’s done for the multi-national conservative cable news channel Fox News, especially for co-hosting and weather anchoring their morning news show “Fox & Friends”.

Early life and education

Janice was raised in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, by her parents, about whom not a lot is known as she respects their privacy; it’s believed that her father was a doctor, and that her mother was a journalist, writing for a local newspaper.

Because Janice hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, most of her fans believe her to be an only child.

She became interested in journalism while attending a local high school in Ottawa, an interest born after Janice was asked by a teacher to contribute to the school’s magazine. She enjoyed taking part in various activities during those four years there, and appeared in a couple of school plays, occasionally played volleyball with her peers, and practiced dancing.

Upon matriculating in 1988, she enrolled at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ottawa, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in radio television broadcasting in 1992. Janice eventually went on to Mississippi State University in 2006, and graduated with a Master’s degree in broadcast meteorology in 2009.

Career as a journalist and author

Prior to launching her career as a journalist and meteorologist, Janice worked as a by-law enforcement officer in Canada, and then at the radio station CHEZ-FM licensed to Ottawa, prior to moving to New York City and joining the TV station WCBS.

Between September 2002 and December 2003, Janice was the news and entertainment anchor at the TV station WFAN, mostly focused on hosting the station’s morning news show.

It was in January 2004 that Janice joined Fox News Channel, and has since become their senior meteorologist. She has worked various jobs for the channel during these 18 years that she has been with them, including being a radio correspondent and providing voiceover broadcasting.

Janice is today perhaps mostly focused on writing books, and her first – “Mostly Sunny: How I Learned to Keep Smiling Through the Rainiest Days” – was published on 5 March 2019, becoming a New York Times best-seller. She published her second book “Make Your Own Sunshine: Inspiring Stories of People Who Find Light in Dark Times” on 2 March 2021, and it has also become a best-seller.

Janice is a writer of children’s books too, and is probably known best for her series “Freddy the Frogcaster”.

Criticizing Andrew Cuomo

Just recently, in 2021 and 2022, Janice heavily criticized the American lawyer and politician Andrew Mark Cuomo, who served as the 56th governor of New York State between 2011 and 2021.

This happened after her parents-in-law both passed away from complications caused by the coronavirus; both lived in nursing homes in New York State, and Janice blamed the New York advisory for their deaths, claiming that the required admissions and readmissions at nursing homes didn’t need virus testing.

Janice also heavily criticized the weekly magazine “People”, the morning show “Good Morning America”, and the news-based pay TV channel CNN, for failing to cover Andre Cuomo’s actions taken in regards of coronavirus. She criticized Andrew’s brother Chris, who’s a former presenter of the weeknight news analysis show “Cuomo Prime Time”, and who had interviewed his brother for his show.

Janice’s story has been featured in many magazines and TV shows, and it’s been revealed that Andrew Cuomo’s secretary Melissa DeRosa and his brother Chris have attempted to criticize Janice, and come up with a strategy that will make her story seem unimportant.

Love life and husband

Janice prefers not to share the details of her love life with her fans, but it’s still widely known that she’s today a married woman. She exchanged vows with Sean Newman in 2007, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; Sean is an American firefighter, and is currently working as battalion chief at the New York City Fire Department.

The two haven’t shared how they met, but it’s believed that they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, and that they were together for five years prior to exchanging vows.

Janice has given birth to her and Sean’s sons Matthew and Theodore, but they’re keeping their boys away from the media’s attention, wanting them to lead normal lives.
