Who is Heidi Watney? Wiki Bio
Heidi Watney was born in the US on 19 May 1981, so under the zodiac sign of Taurus and holding American nationality – Heidi came into the spotlight thanks to her career of a sportscaster.
Early life and school
Heidi has been into sports since she was a young girl, as was looking up to her parents who are both sporting – she hasn’t talked about them as she doesn’t want them involved in the media, but often mentions them in the captions of her pictures on Instagram. Heidi is allegedly an only child, as she hasn’t mentioned having any siblings.
While attending Clovis West High School, Heidi participated in several sports and events, including hurdles, diving, and gymnastics, while she also served as the head cheerleader. She was somewhat popular amongst her peers thanks to her involvement in so many things – she went on to become a National Merit Scholar, and enrolled at the University of San Diego, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003.
Heidi’s career of a sportscaster
Heidi’s first choice of career was modelling, noticed by modelling scouts who invited her for a photoshoot, and Heidi then signed with a modelling agency based in Boston. Motivated by her newfound fame in the modelling industry, she entered the Miss California USA pageant, claiming the first runner-up.
She launched her career of a reporter in 2006, when she started working for KMPH-TV station in Fresno as their weekend sports anchor – she also took a job at ESPN Radio 1430 KFIG, performing both of these simultaneously. In May 2008, she moved across country and became a host of “The Ultimate Red Sox Show”, which airs on the NESN sports network, and followed by becoming a host of “The Red Sox Report”, and then working for the Boston Red Sox professional baseball team as their on-field reporter.
After leaving NESN, Heidi worked for Time Warner Cable SportsNet in November 2011 as their sideline reporter for all the regional sports, and moved to Los Angeles as the job was based there. She wasn’t part of their team for too long, as she quit in September 2012, and began working as the host of the Major League Baseball (MLB) “Quick Pitch” weeknights show in 2013 – she has been working for them ever since, only missing the start of 2018 as she gave birth to her son.
While she’s not an actress, she featured in the music video “Going Out in Style” sung by Dropkick Murphys.
Personal life and husband
Heidi prefers not to share too much about her love life with the public, but some details regarding her husband are still known. Heidi and Mike Wickham met in 2012 after they worked together on a project, as Mike is a reporter as well. It took them a while to start dating but they haven’t separated since they went out on their first date. Mike proposed to Heidi in the summer of 2014, and they exchanged their wedding vows on 31 December that year as they both liked the idea of walking into the new year as a married couple. The wedding took place in Edgewater in New Jersey, and they spent their honeymoon on Nevis Island in the Caribbean, while later visiting Bora Bora in the Pacific.
Although married for years, they waited to have children – Heidi gave birth to their son Jax on 26 April 2018. While Heidi hasn’t talked about the other men she might have dated throughout the years, rumor has it that she was in a romantic relationship with Jason Varitek, who was working alongside her at Boston Red Sox. Jason was a married man when the rumors started, but it didn’t affect his marriage as both he and Heidi denied the rumors publicly, however, things changed when paparazzi shot a couple of pictures of Heidi and Jason spending time in a club. Jason would later file for divorce, which sparked the rumors even further.

She’s a big lover of animals as well, and has a pet dog – she believes her son should grow up having a dog as his best friend.
