Allan dived into the world of acting at the early age of 12, when she made her first ‘acting steps’ on the stage of a local theatre. To greater prominence she came during her teenage years, when she portrayed the title character of Rapunzel in the eponymous children’s stageplay at the Oxford Playhouse, produced by its Burton Taylor Studio.

Freya Allan

Freya Allan‘s debut on-camera acting engagement occurred in early 2017, when she was cast for the main character of Caitlin in Meg Campbell’s short drama movie “Bluebird”. Freya continued her collaboration with this director, and later in 2017 appeared in another Campbell short drama movie entitled “Christmas Tree”.

Prior to taking part in more demanding acting projects, in late 2017 Allan appeared as Linda in Kai Axmacher’s short drama motion picture, “Captain Fierce”. So in May 2018 Allan was cast to portray the 14-years-old ‘version’ of one of the main characters in the American TV action adventure series “Into the Badlands”.

She appeared in the fifth episode of the show’s third season, portraying Young Minerva, a skillful marital artist and the newest baron in the world of Badlands, otherwise played by Emily Beecham. In 2019, she appeared in the first episode of the BBC’s TV Sci-Fi drama mini-series based on the eponymous H. G. Wells’ 1898 novel entitled “The War of the Worlds”.

“The Witcher”

However, the real breakthrough in Freya’s acting career occurred in late 2019 when she was cast for the role of the Princess Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon – better known as ‘Ciri’ – in Netflix’s latest spectacular fantasy series “The Witcher“.

The premise of the show, which premiered on the 20th December, follows a solitary monster hunter – the witcher Geralt of Rivia, portrayed by Henry Cavill, and is based on the series of novels of the same name, written by the Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski.

Freya stars in all eight episodes of the series’ first season, portraying the sole Princess of Cintra and Geralt’s adopted daughter, and is highly likely to appear in its sequel, which is planned for airing in 2021. Allan is also about to appear as Kail in the TV drama series “The Third Day”, as well as in the 2020 action movie entitled “Gunpowder Milkshake”, which are both in post-production phases.
