David Faber Wiki Bio

David H. Faber was born in New York City, USA, on 10 March 1964 – his zodiac sign is Pisces and he holds American nationality. He’s a market news analyst and financial journalist, currently working for the American basic cable business news channel CNBC, while he’s perhaps known best for having guest hosted the game-show “Jeopardy!” from 2 to 6 August 2021. The show has been airing since 1984, was created by Merv Griffin, and follows a champion and two challengers who are testing their knowledge in many categories; it has won 52 of the 159 awards for which it’s been nominated.

Back in 2012, David was the winner of the game-show “Celebrity Jeopardy!”

Early life and education

David was raised in a Jewish family in Queens, New York City, by his parents about whom little is known, because he respects their privacy; it’s believed that his father is a lawyer, and that his mother’s an accountant. Because David hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, most of his fans believe that he’s an only child.

He became interested in journalism at the age of 12, after he started watching the news with his father on a daily basis; David then focused on his education, determined to one day pursue a college degree.

He attended a local high school at which he was quite sporting, playing both football and tennis, while he also wrote articles for the school newspaper.

Upon matriculating in 1982, David enrolled at Tufts University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1986.

Career as a journalist

David worked various jobs for seven years following his graduation, but hasn’t shared many details related to that period of his life; it’s only known that he had been working at the monthly periodical magazine “Institutional Investor”.

David gained recognition when he was hired by the TV network CNBC in 1993, and his colleagues have described him as ‘the brain’.

He’s hosted several documentaries produced by CNBC, such as those about eBay and Wal-Mart, while his work on “The Age of Walmart” won him a 2005 Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award for Broadcast Journalism, as well as a 2005 Peabody Award.

For his contribution to the 2010 reality show “House of Cards”, David won a Gerald Loeb Award for Television Enterprise Business Journalism (shared with colleagues).

Since 24 January 2007, David has been hosting the CNBC monthly show “Business Nation”, while he’s today also hosting their show “Squawk on the Street”.

Books

David’s an accomplished author, and has published three books. His debut book “The Faber Report: CNBC’s “The Brain” Tells You How Wall Street Really Works and How You Can Make It Work for You” was published in 2002, while his second book “And Then the Roof Caved In: How Wall Street’s Greed and Stupidity Brought Capitalism to Its Knees” came out in 2009. David’s third book “House of Cards: The Origins of the Collapse” followed in 2010.

Presence on social media networks

David was once quite active on Instagram, and his account was followed by more than 20,000 people, however, he has recently deleted it for unknown reasons.

While most of his fans believe this to be because he prefers to run his Twitter account, others have claimed that he was tired of receiving messages with various content from his ‘fans’.

David launched his Twitter account in May 2010, and it’s today followed by close to 250,000 people, while he’s tweeted more than 3,000 times, mostly sharing the latest news with his fans, but also enjoys sharing his opinion on various matters, including the ongoing war in Ukraine.

He has a Facebook page which is today followed by more than 1,000 people, but his most recent update was on 26 February 2020.

David doesn’t have his own TikTok account, but many videos featuring him have been uploaded onto the network by other users, and these have been watched more than 100,000 times.

Love life and wife

David prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s still known that he’s today a married man. He exchanged vows with Jenny Harris in 2000, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members. Jenny is an American business journalist and TV producer, but probably known best for being the daughter of the famous American actress Marie Masters, and the lawyer Jay Harris.

It’s been reported that David and Jenny have a son and a daughter together, however, no pictures of the children can be found on the internet, nor have David and Jenny commented on these rumors.
