Clare-Hope Naa K. Ashitey was born on 12 February 1986 in Enfield, Middlesex England, so under the sign of Aquarius, and holding British nationality. Her parents are Tina and Paul Ashitey, a medical secretary and a dentist respectively, who both come from Ghana. Clare has two siblings: an older sister Grace, who is a student of the University of Warwick, and an older brother, whose name and occupation is unknown.

After “Children of Men”, Clare soon got another invitation, to appear in the movie “Exodus” (2007), in which she played the role of Zipporah. Directed by Penny Woolcock, the film gave Clare an opportunity to work in an international team with such actors as Reza Ali, Vladimir Jacsik, Muhim Ahmed and many others.

TV series appearances

After her graduation from the Centre Stage School of Performing Arts in 2010, Clare was cast as Helen in the series “Coming Up” (2003 – present) – even though she only appeared in one episode, it was her successful debut in a TV series. She later had more roles in such series as “Top Boy” (2011 – present), in which she landed the role of Taylor, “Mrs Biggs” (a mini-series launched in 2012), in which Clare played the Receptionist, and “Suspects” (2014 – present), in which Clare appeared in 10 episodes, playing DC Charlie Steele.

She could also be seen in “Doctor Foster” (2015 – 2017) in the role of Carly, “Master of None” (2015 – present) in which she played Sara, and “Shots Fired” (2017 – present), a thriller series, in which Clare landed the role of Kerry Beck.
