Education and early life

Brian’s parents moved to live in Colorado not long after he was born – very little is known of his mother and father, as Brian prefers to keep them away from the media’s attention.

He hasn’t talked about having any siblings, which is why he’s believed to be an only child. Brian grew up wanting to become an actor. He first tried acting in elementary school, and was soon part of the plays organized there – he continued this in high school, and after matriculation, enrolled at the University of Colorado at Boulder, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre. As soon as he got his degree, Brian went on to work on his career as an actor.

Brian started off on  stage, appearing in plays such as “Waiting for Godot” and “Equus” before becoming part of The Colorado Shakespeare Festival – he was part of the group for two years, before launching his career on the TV screen. His venture into the film industry began in 2002, when he was cast to play Owen in the “My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star” TV series, and in the same year played David Caplan in the “Boston Public” TV series. The year 2003 saw Brian make his movie debut in “From Justin to Kelly”, actually his only role that year.

In 2004, Brian began playing Dr. Jimmy Palmer in the “NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service”, and it was this role that brought him recognition in the film industry – he played a supportive character until 2012, when he was made part of the main cast, and is still shooting for the series today. In the same year, he played a ghost in the “Purgatory House” independent film. Next year in 2005, Brian appeared in the “Self-Inflicted” movie, and then took three years only focusing on appearing in “NCIS” – he won his next role in 2008 when he played a clerk in the “Hit Factor” TV series.

In 2009, he appeared in the “Nowhere to Hide” movie, and then in 2013 had his last role in a TV series when he played Mark Leighton in “Perception” – his last two appearances in movies were in “Every Second Counts” in 2015, and the “One-Minute Time Machine” short film in 2015 as well.

Brian met Kelly Scooby sometime in 2002 while he was still acting in theatre – it was Kelly who approached Brian after one of his performances, and the two were an instant match.

They officially began dating about a month later, and in 2004 Brian got on his knee and asked Kelly to marry him, so… the wedding took place in Colorado that year and the two have apparently been living a happy life together ever since, as there are no rumors nor controversies surrounding their marriage. They are parents to two children but being as secretive as they are, neither Brian nor Kelly have shared any details regarding them, including their birth dates and names. Brian hasn’t talked about any other women he might have dated before Kelly, and it appears as she has been the only woman he has been interested in throughout the years.

Hobbies and interests

While his main focus is on his acting career, there are numerous other things Brian enjoys doing and is good at. Brian’s favorite season is winter, as he prefers to stay high up in the mountains rather than at the beach – he is an avid skier, while he also knows how to snowboard. He also participates at other sports with his friends and colleagues, such as golf, baseball, and squash and although he played football in high school, he completely gave up on it once he enrolled at college. Both Brian and Kelly love to travel, and see this as their main hobby – they have so far been all around the US (mostly on road trips) and often upload pictures of their journeys onto their social media accounts. The two prefer to stay in natural areas including forests, mountains, and near lakes rather than to spend their time in big cities.
