Immediately, she started showing her ambitions, focusing on her work, and as a result covered a number of important events, including the attack on the Pentagon on the 11th September, then the DC-area sniper attacks, while she also covered the peace corps efforts in Bosnia, and the 2000 Presidential elections. Thanks to her hard work, Nancy was noticed by the NewsOne channel, an ABC news affiliate news service, which recruited her as their new Washington-based correspondent.

Just a year in this position, Nancy took a step forward as she was promoted to the position of the ABC News correspondent in New York, where she worked until 2007, during which time she covered a number of important stories, which further contributed to her wealth and popularity.
