Kate was born in Bangor, Maine USA, on 10 June 1969 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality. She’s a TV journalist who’s probably known best for the work which she’s done for the American TV network NBC, especially for serving as senior national correspondent for their shows “Today” and “Dateline NBC”.
Early life and education
Kate was raised in Burnt Hills, New York State alongside her sister Barbara and brother Joshua, by their father Dean R. Snow who’s an Iroquoian expert and anthropologist, and their mother who’s was also academically inclined.
Kate was urged by her parents to focus on her education from a very early age, as they wanted her to pursue a college degree and become successful.
She studied at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and was interested in numerous activities during her four years there, including writing for the school newspaper, practicing acting with the school’s drama club and dancing.
Upon matriculating in 1987, Kate enrolled at Cornell University from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1991; she continued her education at Georgetown University, from which she gained a Master’s degree in foreign service in 1993.
Career as a journalist
Kate launched her career in 1995, when hired to work as a reporter at the ABC-affiliated TV station KOAT, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she stayed for three years before she was invited to join CNN as their reporter.
Kate subsequently joined ABC News in 2003, and for the following year worked as their White House correspondent for their show “Good Morning America”. She was then promoted to co-hosting the show “Good Morning America Weekend Edition”, a job which she held for the following six years. Kate covered many important stories during the seven years which she had spent at ABC News, including the Sarah Palin’s campaign for vice president, the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and the 2008 presidential election.
She was hired by NBC News in 2010 and became the correspondent for their weekly reality legal show “Dateline NBC”, while she also contributed to many of their other shows.
She became the anchor of the Sunday show “NBC Nightly News” in September 2015, and the same month saw her also start hosting a two-hour show on “MSNBC Live”. In 2016, Kate interviewed many women who had accused American stand-up comedian and actor Bill Cosby for sexual assault – these were featured in the show “Dateline NBC”, and won her a News & Documentary Emmy Award.
In April 2017, Kate became a senior national correspondent for NBC News, and thus quit appearing in MSNBC shows; she has since covered numerous stories for “Dateline NBC”, “Today” and “NBC Nightly News”.
Since October 2019, Kate has been hosting Oxygen pay TV’s true crime series “Relentless”.
Kate is quite active on Instagram, and is today followed by more 30,000 people on the network, while she’s uploaded close to 2,000 pictures, most of which feature her during her everyday life, and thus reveal a lot about her.
