Early life and education
Kate was raised in Burnt Hills, New York State alongside her sister Barbara and brother Joshua, by their father Dean R. Snow who’s an Iroquoian expert and anthropologist, and their mother who’s was also academically inclined.
Kate was urged by her parents to focus on her education from a very early age, as they wanted her to pursue a college degree and become successful.
She studied at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and was interested in numerous activities during her four years there, including writing for the school newspaper, practicing acting with the school’s drama club and dancing.

Kate launched her career in 1995, when hired to work as a reporter at the ABC-affiliated TV station KOAT, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she stayed for three years before she was invited to join CNN as their reporter.
Kate subsequently joined ABC News in 2003, and for the following year worked as their White House correspondent for their show “Good Morning America”. She was then promoted to co-hosting the show “Good Morning America Weekend Edition”, a job which she held for the following six years.
