The series was about a stand-up comedian who unexpectedly becomes a surrogate father when he takes custody of his sister’s three children.

It lasted from 2001 to 2006, and young Dee Dee starred in all 104 episodes of the Golden Globe Award-nominated series. She became a star, and won a few award nominations, and was named the winner of the Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) – Young Actress Age Ten or Younger, by Young Artist Awards in 2004.
