Early life and education

Joshua was raised in Bedford alongside his older brother Seth Adam Meyers (born on 28 December 1973) who is a comedian, writer, producer, actor, and a TV host, who became popular after he started hosting the “Late Night with Seth Meyer”, which airs on NBC.

The two boys were raised by their mother Hillary Claire (nee Olson) who is a French teacher, and their father Laurence Meyers Jr. who worked in the finance industry, and is now retired. Josh attended Manchester High School West in Manchester, New Hampshire, and after matriculation enrolled at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1998.

Career as an actor

Josh gained recognition after he was cast to perform in the eighth season of the “Mad TV” American comedy sketch television series inspired by the “Mad” magazine in 2002.

He was eventually chosen to fill in the spot of Spishak Spokesperson, and became popular thanks to his impersonations of celebrities such as Eminem, Owen Wilson, and Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel among others.

Josh made his debut film appearance in the “Down” Dutch science fiction horror movie in 2001, and in 2002 was cast to play Hooligan in the red light district in “Snapshots”. He appeared in “The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and His Little Friend” short film in 2005, played Napoleon Dynamite/Owen Wilson look-alike in “Date Movie” in 2006, and in 2007 portrayed Josh in the “Wrangling Coach Rankin” short film.

In 2008, he appeared in “College Road Trip”, and in 2009 portrayed Kookus in “Bruno”. The year 2010 saw him lend his voice to the Clocky and Conky characters in “Pee-wee Gets an iPad!”, and appear in a single episode of the “Workshop” comedy web series in 2011. He went on to portray Dr. Carl Rosen in “Are You There, Chelsea?” and Abe Frohman in “Breaking In” in 2012 and in 2013 made appearances in three TV series two of which are “Newsreaders” and “The Mindy Project”.

His most recent role in TV series has been in “Red Oaks” in which he was playing Barry from 2014 to 2017.

Love life and wife

Josh was in a long-term relationship with Andrea Kay ‘Missi’ Pyle  – the two met on the set of a movie they were both cast to appear in. It is believed that the relationship lasted from 2012 to 2016 and that the two became engaged sometime in 2014. While there are rumors circulating the internet that Josh and Missi married in 2016, it is known that the two have split, and broken-off their engagement.

Missi is an American actress and a singer, best known for her roles in “The Artist”, “50 First Dates”, and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. She was born in Houston, Texas on 16 November 1972 to Linda and Frank Pyle, and has two older sisters named Debbie and Julie, and two older brothers called Sam and Paul. She attended North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1995. She was married two times before her relationship with Josh, to Antonio Sacre from 2000 until 2005, and then to Casey Anderson in 2008, but they divorced in 2012.

Hobbies and other interests

Josh has been interested in comedy since he was a teenager, and while working on his way up in the film industry, he was performing as a stand-up comedian in local bars and pubs in New Hampshire. His role models are Jim Carrey and Chris Rock, and enjoys watching their movies such as “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls” and “Grown Ups”. Josh likes listening to music, and his favorite genre is old school rock, and bands such as Aerosmith and AC/DC – he has attended numerous concerts while in his teen years, but rarely attends musical events today.

He is a lover of animals, and is a philanthropist who has started several fundraising campaigns for a variety of purposes all of which have been successful. He enjoys travelling and has been all around the US, and to South America and Europe, visiting countries such as England, France and Switzerland.
