After she matriculated from high school, Joanna moved to Fairbanks to attend the University of Alaska’s School of Agriculture, from which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing – she’s still living in Fairbanks and working at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital as a pediatric nurse.

Charlie is a trapper of animals in the wilderness, so that he can use their fur and other elements – he’s also working as a local guide. Charlie occasionally offers advice and training to those who are interested in learning how to properly place a trap, and how to reset it after it’s once used. He is particularly skilled at trapping wolves and lynx, while he’s also worked with wolverines, otters, and beavers. Charlie’s father taught him how to pilot a ‘plane, and Charlie has purchased his own after saving money for several years.
On 25 May 2015, Charlie and the rest of his family began starring in “The Last Alaskans” reality TV series – it first aired on the Animal Planet channel, switching to the Discovery Channel after its first season. The show follows several families living in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, as they struggle with the Alaskan weather as well with its wildlife – the show counted four seasons and 36 episodes, which have a running time of around 42 minutes.
