Viva Skubiszewski was born on the 17th of November 1983, in Australia to Cezary and Lee Skubiszewski. Her father, a television and film composer has Polish-Australian origin while her mother is Australian. The family shifted from the countryside of Victoria, Australia to Melbourne during her childhood due to her father’s work. Growing up, Claire had a great fondness for acting, and was inspired by Cate Blanchett and Heath Ledger.

Shortly after graduating, she began her acting career as Viva Bianca, with the guest role of Adriana in the series, “Eugenie Sandler P.I” in 2000. After her debut, she starred in many other television series, such as “Marshall Law”, “Blue Heelers” and “All Saints”. In 2009, she starred in her first television films, entitled “Accidents Happen” and “Bad Bush” but the former was a flop and gathered mixed reviews.
In 2010, she gained popularity for her role as Ilthyia in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”, based on the life of the historical figure Spartacus. A year later she played the lead role in “X: Night of Vengeance”, a thriller, then in 2012 reprised her role as Ilthyia in “Spartacus: Vengeance” to much critical appreciation. Viva has also appeared in TV movies and films such as “A Prince for Christmas” alongside Kirk Barker, “Showing Roots” and “Blind”.
