Troy wasn’t named for the popular Troyan Empire, but rather after Nguyen Van Troi, who was the Vietnamese resistance leader.

Troy became an actor as an infant without even knowing it, as he was featured in a travelogue his parents made entitled “Introduction to the Enemy” in 1974. Inspired by his mother, he went on to become an actor as well, with his first roles being at the Santa Barbara Laurel Springs Camp for the Arts, and appeared uncredited in the “On Golden Pond” movie in 1981, alongside his mother and grandfather Henry Fonda – a much respected actor himself.

After he matriculated from high school, Troy enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, and later became part of the Academy Repertory Company.

Career of an actor

Troy’s career was launched as soon as he was finished with the American Academy of Dramatic Arts – his first notable role was in the “Steal This Movie” shot in 2000 in which he played the father of Abbie Hoffman who is the founder of Yippie.

Personal life and relationships

Troy prefers to keep his business life separated from his personal matters, and he can rarely be heard talking in public about his past and present relationships, however, some things about him are still known.

Troy has been married for nearly 12 years now. He exchanged his wedding vows with Simone Bent on 27 August 2007, at Columbia University’s St. Paul’s Chapel – Simone is an actress as well as an activist. The two allegedly met on the set of a movie they worked on together, and instantly fell for one another – they were dating for two years before marrying, however, they broke up twice during those two years, before ‘finding each other’ permanently.

Although Troy and Simone have been married for so long now, they do not have any kids and do not seem to be planning to have any.

Who is Simone Bent?

Not a lot is known about Simone Bent, as she is trying to stay away from media attention, and rose to prominence only after marrying Troy.

Simone was born in the US and is of African-American ethnicity – she is an actress, but being an activist is apparently a lot more important to her. She grew up in the US alongside her parents Dee L. Bent and Boswell Bent, but nothing about them is known as Simone doesn’t want the media to write about them. She was bullied a bit at high school, which resulted in her becoming an activist – after she matriculated from high school, she completely focused on her careers of an activist and an actress, and decided not to enroll at college.

Simone has appeared in enough movies and TV series to call herself an actress, but none of these are significant, and her career is in the shadow of Troy’s career. She is currently working as a treasurer in her husband’s foundation, which has created a capital of millions of dollars throughout the years.

Simone isn’t active on the internet ,and the only social media account she has is her Twitter account which she launched in June 2009 and has gathered over 400 followers and tweeted nearly 300 times, however, her last tweet was published on 23 August 2015.
