Early life, family, educational background
Footballer turned model and now an actor, Trent Kennedy Garrett was born on 2 March 1984, in Hampton, Virginia USA. His parents, Libby and Greg Garrett have three other children together, Trent’s older brother, younger brother and a sister. Their family has a very close bond. He is of German, Scottish and Cherokee Native-American descent.
He attended Gloria Day Lutheran School before moving to Hampton Christian Middle School, then in 2003 matriculating from Grafton High School, Yorktown.
While he was studying, he was a kicker on the school’s football team, and apparently played very well.
He was very active when he was growing up, participating in as many social activities as he could. Although he played football excellently, he knew his heart was in acting, and that’s what he pursued after spending just a semester at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. In 2004 he moved to Los Angeles, and still resides there.

He is most famous for his role in “Boost” as Austin Banks.
He has done modeling jobs, but doesn’t enjoy them as they include a lot of downtime. He was discovered by a modeling talent scout when he was working at the Grove’s Abercrombie store in Los Angeles – the Men’s Director of Nous was shopping there during his lunch hour. He has appeared in plays such as “Romeo and Juliet” and “Oliver Twist.”
Television Series
His first television appearance was in an episode of 2009’s drama series “90210,” as Bru-Dog. From 2010 to 2011, he played in 91 episodes of “All My Children” as Asher Pike, his first significant television role.
In 2012, he appeared in two episodes of ABC Family’s “Make It or Break It” – his character, Brad, was training for the 2012 Olympics in cycling. That same year he appeared in single episodes of “Baby Daddy” and “CSI: New York.”
He has appeared in several television series throughout the years. From 2016 to 2018, he made an appearance in “New Girl” as Donovan, in 2017 he appeared in “The Middle”, and as Bowie Quinn – Andi’s father – in Disney’s Channel’s “Andi Mack” from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, he appeared in three television series. His most recent role on television was in 2019 in “Lodge 49.”

In 2012 he played the role of Ryan in his film debut, “Last Call.” His performance helped him book roles in other movies such as 2012’s “Slightly Single in LA,” Larry in 2013’s “Martial Science”, 2015’s “Pocket Listing” as Jason, and most famously as Austin Banks in 2016’s “Boost.” In 2016, he replaced Scott Speedman in the “Underworld” series, when he appeared as Michael Covin in “Underworld: Blood Wars.” In 2017, he appeared in three movies including as Redding in “Loca”.

Although he does not enjoy modeling, he has an impressive list of brands under his belt.

Personal life
On 25 November 2015, Trent announced the birth of his son, Luka Kennedy Garrett on his Instagram account. He captioned that his son is a new little warrior of light. Luka’s mom is Trent’s ex-girlfriend, model Tereza Kacerova. Tereza was in a relationship with Avicii (Tim Bergling) until his death.
They kept their relationship private until Tereza opened up about it after his passing; she mentioned that Avicii was very fond of Luka.
In 2017, he met blogger, Maya. On her blog, Maya recalled their meeting at a friend’s Bootcamp. She was instantly attracted to him and fell in love with Trent within a month. She wrote that she felt incredibly lucky to have found Trent, who was always loving and supportive of her. In Instagram posts which are now deleted, they would gush over one another, and share many pictures of the other. They never announced their breakup; instead, their fans figured it out after both Trent and Maya deleted their Instagram posts.
In November 2018, Trent married Canadian singer-songwriter and actress, Cassandra Rae ‘Cassie’ Steele. Trent and Cassie’s Instagram feeds heavily feature each other, and their love can be seen through their extended, loving captions, indicating a close relationship – they attend events together.
On 25 November 2019, Cassie posted a few photos on Instagram for Luka’s birthday. She captioned the post, ‘I don’t think my husband would be the man I fell in love with if not for you, and I wouldn’t have my best friend if she wasn’t your mother.’ A couple of the photos also featured Luka with Tereza.

- At one time, his dream was to become a professional soccer player.
