Ackerley met Robbie on the set of “Suite Francaise”, and they began dating there. Two years later, they were married in a private ceremony in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The two resided in London with five other friends in a three bedroom house, but later relocated to Los Angeles to that they could be closer to work. During his free time, he enjoys doing outdoor activities such as playing golf with friends. He also enjoys photography, and often takes photos of beautiful outdoor sceneries or moments shared with the people he loves.
Outside of work, he is a very athletic person, enjoying surfing and long run events such as marathons, goes to sporting events. The two share a love for extreme sports and physical activities. Robbie admitted in an interview that before she met Tom, she was not sure about marriage. The duo started a production company together called LuckyChap Entertainment which they created alongside their closest friends.
