The couple had a child in 2013, but in the same fashion, they prefer not to share any details about that. Meet QUINN LUNDBERG → co-founder at LOOM • ?? I am originally from Edmonton Alberta, Canada and I am a mother of two children. I spent my early 20s as a professional dancer and then moved to New York City, where I taught dancing and attended Hunter College – receiving my undergraduate degree in International Conflict Resolution. I spent some time at the United Nations working with UNICEF and then proceeded to co-found a nonprofit organization, Growing Voices that supported local leaders in making sustainable community change. I worked to alleviate domestic violence in North Carolina and helped to build a community center in rural Malawi. After traveling to various developing countries and learning how to create community in remote spots around the world, I began my Masters degree in Public Policy at UCLA, graduating in 2014 with a concentration in International and Nonprofit Policy. I am inspired by women and their ability to manage countless responsibilities within a system that contains institutional barriers for them and many others. I am passionate about creating community for families and pushing forward a shame-free environment that is welcoming to everyone in their unique reproductive experience. #thisisloom via @avocadocat x @wallforapricots
Quinn also focuses on preventing domestic violence, poverty reduction and empowering women and families. Another of their tasks is providing people from different financial backgrounds with information and tools they might need for their future families. Speaking about their motivation and work, co-founder Erica Chidi Cohen said that Quinn and her wanted to create a new approach to health education.
“We felt that the industry hadn’t had any real innovation in years, and people were opting out of learning about their bodies or about parenting because the options available either felt too medicalized or too ‘woo-woo”, she then added. Quinn and Erica are also LGBTGIA activists, and have shone the light on supporting people of those sexual orientation in their journeys to parenthood, and in that manner, created a programming series named Kin, made to meet their needs. Their story has been covered in numerous media outlets, and they mainly attracted praise for their work and efforts – but not everyone approves of their “neo-liberal leanings”.
