Tyson C. Beckford was born on 19 December 1970, in Rochester, New York State USA, so his zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and he holds American nationality. His mother was Hillary Dixon Hall, of Afro-Jamaican descent, and his father Lloyd Beckford, of Chinese-Jamaican and Afro-Jamaican descent.
Though he was born in Rochester, when Tyson turned one-year-old, his mother insisted on moving back to Jamaica, where the family lived for seven years, as multiple relatives and friends of the family could help them there. This also helped Tyson to become known in Australia, so he was invited as the guest star host of the Australian version of the show, appearing in several episodes there alongside former Miss Universe, supermodel Jennifer Hawkins. Tyson also hosted the Irish version of the popular modeling TV contest, “Next Top Model”, originally produced and hosted by Tyra Banks in the US.

Since 1992 Tyson has appeared in more than 20 music videos, and Toni Braxton even invited him twice into her short films. In August 2018 Tyson got into a controversy with Kim Kardashian after his comment on her photo on Twitter. He wrote he didn’t care for her, as he didn’t consider her ‘real’ since she underwent multiple plastic surgery procedures. Kim noticed the comment and called Tyson “Sis”, hinting on his being a gay. Tyson denied he was a gay, but Kim was crushed with the wave of negative and reproaching comments from thousands of users who considered her comment to be homophobic. The controversy was also fueled by Kim’s husband, Kanye West’s reaction, who was furious about celebrities negatively commenting on the photos of his wife. Tyson removed his Twitter after the controversy.

In September 2008, Berniece and Tyson appeared at several charity events which supported the victims of domestic violence. They were both active members of the National RESPECT!
