October spent her early life in Los Angeles, where she was raised by her Mexican mother and her American father Pat Vegas – Pat was a musician playing in the Redbone band in the ‘70s.

As Pat was a pianist and Pat’s mother was a singer, October and her brother and three sisters were pushed to take music lessons as they were growing up – October and her sister Sarah could often be seen singing at charity and school events. After October’s parents’ addiction to drugs became too bad, she moved to Florida with her sister and started living with their uncle – she attended West Brook Senior High School before enrolling at the University of Texas, Austin, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2003.

Tony was raised by his mother Judy in Torrance – Judy worked two jobs for many years to be able to support herself and Tony.

He attended Huntington Beach High School where he played football and basketball for the school’s team, and after matriculation, he enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1997.
