Sasha Czack is an American actress, photographer, model and film director. Despite her success in these careers, Sasha is best known as the first wife of Hollywood superstar, screenwriter and producer, Sylvester Stallone.
Early life, family and educational background
Sasha was born Alexandra Jane Czach under the star sign of Cancer on the 17th of July 1950, in Chester, Pennsylvania, USA – she is nicknamed “Stitch”. Nothing is known about her parents and any siblings. It’s evident that she had a fondness for acting, as after her high school matriculation, she attended the University of Notre Dame du Lac in Indiana, USA, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies.

Acting career
Sasha then began searching for jobs, and earned a role in the Soap Opera ‘Love for Life’, telecast on the American CBS Network, which had a long run on the network, from 24th September 1951 up to 1st February 1980. Sasha’s role in the show gave her the opportunity to be noticed by other members of the industry, and she was offered the lead in the American drama, ‘Play It as It Lays’ in 1972. She didn’t accept this role, and stayed back to help her then fiancé (Sylvester Stallone) type screenplays for his project. She had a small role alongside her husband at the time in “Rocky III” in 1982, and years later in 1996, she acted in the film “Long Lost Love” which she wrote and directed, as well as the 2006 film, “Vic” which was directed by her late son, Sage.

Aside from her various acting gigs, Sasha is also an avid photographer. She was the lead still photographer of the blockbuster “Rocky” in 1976, as well as its co-writer. Then again in 2006, she was the still photographer of her son’s film, “Vic”.

Marriage to Sylvester Stallone and divorce
Sasha Czack and Sylvester Stallone wed on the 28th of December 1974. Their wedding attracted a lot of attention due to the already famous Sylvester, and put Sasha in the limelight. The newlyweds moved to California, and just two years later they were blessed with their first child whom they named Sage Moonblood. In 1979, they had another son and named him Seargeoh.
Unfortunately, their second child was diagnosed with a form of autism at the young age of three years, and Sasha put a hold on her career to take care of him, and became an active member of the Autistic Society.
However, the illness of their youngest son proved to be a strain on the couple, and on the 14th of February 1985 they parted ways. The divorce was settled at a cost to Sylvester of $12 million, which was a record at the time and remained a major headline for days. Consequently, the divorce led to a rocky relationship between Sylvester and his sons. At the age of 10, their youngest son recovered after therapy and many visits with doctors. He played the role of Rocky’s son in “Rocky III”, but could not pursue a career in acting due to his health condition.

Sylvester Stallone was born Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone on the 6th of July 1946, in Manhattan, New York, USA, to Frank and Jackie Stallone, of mixed Italian, French and Ukrainian-Jewish ancestry. A complication during his birth lead to a paralysis in part of Sylvester’s face, and gave him his signature unique expression and speech. He has a younger brother named Frank, who is also in the entertainment industry.
For his studies, he attended Notre Dame Academy, Lincoln High School and Charlotte Hall Military Academy. After that he enrolled at Miami Dade College and the University of Miami.
Sylvester’s rise to fame
Prior to his rise to fame, the actor struggled for several years, even sleeping at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York for three weeks due to homelessness. He usually found work as an extra on set, and appeared in films such as “The Party at Kitty and Stud’s”, “No Place to Hide”, “Pigeons” and “The Lords of Flatbush”, often in uncredited minor roles. Then in 1976 he rose to fame after the release of the smash hit “Rocky” in which he starred. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, eventually winning the awards for Best Picture, Best Film Editing and Best Directing, and the series went on to become a major success with five films in the franchise.
In 1982, Stallone launched another successful franchise entitled “Rambo”, also eventually five films, Since his rise to global fame the actor has starred in many other successful films such as “The Expendables”, “Creed”, “Escape Plan” and “Spy Kids 3: Game Over”. In his long career he has been rewarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, International Boxing Hall of Fame, and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.
Coming to his personal life, the actor moved on after his divorce from Sasha, and married actress and model Briggitte Nielsen in 1985, but their marriage ended just two years later in a high profile divorce. In 1987, Sylvester married Jennifer Flavin and they now have three daughters together.

Second Marriage to Rick Ash and divorce
Sasha also moved on after her divorce, and continued with her career. On the sets of “Long Lost Love”, she met and fell in love with Rick Ash. He is a sound engineer who has worked on hundreds of films, at one point with Sylvester Stallone in a film. The couple tied the knot in 1997 but divorced just two years later, since when Sasha has apparently remained officially single.
Death of Sage Stallone
The late son of Sasha Czack and Sylvester Stallone was an American film director, actor and film distributor. As an actor he starred in several films, including “Rocky V” with his father, and “Daylight”. His directorial debut was the film “Vic” in 2006 which earned him a Best New Filmmaker Award at the Boston Film Festival.
Other projects of his were “The Agent” and “Promises Written In Water”.
Unfortunately, his career came to an abrupt end on the 13th of July 2012 when he was found dead in his home in Los Angeles by his housekeeper, after she was sent to check on him by his mother. Initially speculation and reporting on his death from a drug overdose proved inaccurate, as toxicology tests and an autopsy, determined that the primary cause of death was a heart attack, brought on by atherosclerosis. The only drugs that were found in his body were the painkillers he was taking for a dental procedure. He was 36 years old at the time of his death; he was buried on the 21st of July in Los Angeles.
