Sasha’s role in the show gave her the opportunity to be noticed by other members of the industry, and she was offered the lead in the American drama, ‘Play It as It Lays’ in 1972. She didn’t accept this role, and stayed back to help her then fiancé (Sylvester Stallone) type screenplays for his project. She had a small role alongside her husband at the time in “Rocky III” in 1982, and years later in 1996, she acted in the film “Long Lost Love” which she wrote and directed, as well as the 2006 film, “Vic” which was directed by her late son, Sage.

Unfortunately, their second child was diagnosed with a form of autism at the young age of three years, and Sasha put a hold on her career to take care of him, and became an active member of the Autistic Society.
However, the illness of their youngest son proved to be a strain on the couple, and on the 14th of February 1985 they parted ways. The divorce was settled at a cost to Sylvester of $12 million, which was a record at the time and remained a major headline for days.
