Wynton Harvey was born on 18 July 1997, making him a Cancerian – his birthplace is unknown. Wynton is the son of comedian and television personality, Steve Harvey and his second-wife, makeup artist Mary Lee Harvey. Wynton has six siblings, three of whom are half-siblings. He has two sisters, twins Brandi and Karli Harvey and a brother, Broderick Harvey. His three half-siblings from Steve’s third marriage are Morgan Harvey, Lori Harvey and Jason Harvey. Who is Steve Harvey?

Wynton’s idol, Broderick Stephen ‘Steve’ Harvey was born on 17 January 1957, in West Virginia State, USA. He is the son of Jesse Harvey and Eloise Vera. Steve grew up in Ohio, and in 2015 the street where he grew-up was renamed to Steve Harvey Way. Steve matriculated in 1974 from Greenville High School, then attended Kent State University, but moved to West Virginia University, where he became a member of the fraternity, Omega Psi Phi.

Steve has had many different jobs throughout his life – on 8 October 1985, Steve performed his first comedy stand-up show in Ohio, at the Hilarities Comedy Club. Before becoming the King of Comedy, Steve lead a challenging life as a struggling comedian, even sleeping in his car for three years when he was without a home.

Steve eventually received his own NBC daytime talk show in 2012, “The Steve Harvey Show,” renamed in 2015 to “Steve,” and the name change was accompanied by a difference in the show’s style and structure. Alas, after seven years on air, NBC cancelled the talk show early in 2019, which came as a surprise to some, as the show ranked at number 4 in daytime television. It was not a surprise to Steve, though – he had expressed his concern about the network and the show’s security in January, and had the following to say about the betrayal: ‘I’m an honorable guy, and I’m just an old school guy, and I just thought that you’re supposed to talk to people and go, “Look, you’ve been good business for us. This is what we’re thinking of doing. Are you okay with that?” No, you don’t just put something in the paper.’

Steve’s producers are currently shopping the show to other networks, but none have taken it up yet. According to Variety, “American Idol” season one winner, Kelly Clarkson will replace “Steve” with her new “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” Steve is famously the presenter of “Family Feud” and “Miss Universe,” has written books, owns a clothing store, and is a presenter or executive producer of multiple television series.

In the seven years of having his own talk show, Steve won five Daytime Emmy Awards. In 1980, Steve married his first wife, Marcia Harvey – they divorced in 1994. In 1996, Steve married Mary Shackelford, Wynton’s mother.

They first met in Arlington, Texas. Steve and Mary’s divorce in 2005 lead to custody battles; Steve won full-custody of Wynton, but divorce settlement was finalized on the grounds that Steve would pay Mary a once-off $1.5 million, $40,000 per month, and she retained three of their homes. The monthly payments of stopped in 2009, and in 2013 Mary violated the court order, when she accused Steve of child abuse, saying he had brutally beaten his children with a belt. The lack of evidence and disagreement from Steve’s children meant that he was cleared of the allegations. Mary responded by creating a social campaign which publicly accused her ex-husband, hoping support from the masses would influence future decisions from the court.

Her plan worked against her – Mary’s actions resulted in her spending Christmas behind bars, after the judge sentenced her to 30 days in jail, charging her on account of disrespecting the court’s ruling. Mary was released on 17 January 2014. Steve married his long-time girlfriend, Marjorie Elaine Harvey in 2007. Like her husband, Marjorie is financially comfortable, with an estimated net worth of over $50 million, made mostly through branding endorsements.

Steve has an estimated net worth of $120 million, but with annual income of approximately $45 million. He earns $10 million for hosting Family Feud and $20 million from radio hosting.

Wynton is in a relationship with Taylor Gordon, the daughter of American journalist and “Bet Tonight” host, Ed Gordon. Professionally, Taylor is a fashion blogger and a social media icon. Wynton and Taylor met in July 2016 and began dating later that year, announcing their relationship via a photo posted by Wynton in July 2017, on the anniversary of their first date.
