Lakiha Spicer is mostly known as Kiki Tyson, the third wife of the legendary boxer, Mike Tyson. The latter is now retired from his boxing career, taking care of his kids with Lakiha.

Early life and family

Lakiha “Kiki” Spicer was born in 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, of American nationality. Her father’s name is Clarence Fowler, but his Islamic name is Shamsud-din Ali. Her mother is Rita Spicer – her Islamic name is Faridah Ali. In the 1970s Lakiha’s father was convicted of murder, and spent several years in prison. When released, he was appointed the leader of the local Philadelphia Masjid, becoming one of the most influential clerics among the Muslims of West Philadelphia. Lakiha is not the only child in her family, as she has a brother named Azheem Spicer., who is three years older than her.

Educational background

Lakiha matriculated from her local high school in West Philadelphia in 1995, but information about her further education isn’t available. She was said to have a BA in teaching, as she claimed she taught Maths on special courses for Islamic families in the Sister Clara Muhammad School, which turned out to be a fraud, though she could have the necessary education.

Career

Lakiha is an entrepreneur and has several businesses, including a fashion boutique. She is also a socialite. Along with her husband Mike Tyson, she is developing the series of Broadway productions about his life entitled “The Undisputed Truth”. The first part of the one-man show was launched on Broadway in August 2012.

“The Undisputed Truth: Round 2” was released on 10 January 2020, as Mike Tyson announced it on his Instagram account in December 2019, in Casino Rama, Ontario. Lakiha co-writes the show along with her husband and their team of editors.

Controversy and prison

Almost all members of Lakiha’s family were convicted of a fraud they committed in September 2004. Lakiha’s parents were both charged with racketeering, using criminal schemes which involved bribery and extortion. The same year Lakiha was sentenced to six months home detention along with four years probation. Lakiha’s father, Clarence Fowler, was sentenced to nine years in prison, staying in jail until 2013. Lakiha’s mother, Rita Spicer, was sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison. In 2008 Lakiha had more problems with the law – she was convicted of defrauding $71,000 from the company owned by her father, for allegedly teaching Maths courses in the Sister Clara Muhammad School.

In fact, Lakiha never taught any courses, and just used the school in her money-laundering scheme. The court sent Lakiha to the federal prison where she spent six months, actually already pregnant with her first child from Mike Tyson. In April 2013 Lakiha filed a lawsuit reporting that she’d received multiple emails from an anonymous person who threatened her safety and that of her family. Lakiha hired the attorney Mark Geragos to take care of the case. The threatening person was identified by his IP, but further details of the case are not known.

Personal life, husband Mike Tyson

Meeting Mike Tyson

Lakiha met her future husband Mike Tyson when she was 18 years old, and he 29. Their first meeting happened after one of his bouts, as Lakiha’s father often took her with him to boxing matches.

His friend, the promoter Don King, introduced Lakiha to Mike, but after that Don warned Tyson that they were “not the people to mess with”. However, it didn’t prevent Lakiha from falling in love with Mike. She later shared that she was attracted by him ‘like moth to a flame’. Lakiha also wasn’t dissuaded with the fact that Mike was convicted of rape in 1992, and spent three years in jail. The couple started dating when Lakiha was 23 years old, in 2000. They had ups and downs in their relationship, as Mike was often unfaithful, often seen at parties spending time with other girls. Lakiha understood that Mike always had extra attention from females who were impressed by his looks and career.

Mike marries Lakiha despite the death of his daughter, Exodus

She waited patiently for him to have enough time being free from any serious relationship, and didn’t press on him.

Eventually, the couple’s affair had to overcome another difficulty, as Lakiha was sent to prison in 2008, carrying Mike’s child. She gave birth to their first child soon after she was released, a daughter named Milan Tyson. At that period in time, Mike was battling the drug addiction he developed after retiring. The couple started seeing each other again, and eventually married.

As the date of the marriage was already planned, Mike didn’t change his matrimonial plans even after the accidental death of his four-year-old daughter, Exodus. The girl was found by her seven-year-old brother, Miguel. According to the reports of Sgt. Andy Hill from the Phoenix Police Department, Exodus was found on a treadmill: ‘she’d been strangled by a cord connected to the machine’, he stated in his report on the tragedy. The daughter of Mike Tyson and the dancer Sol Xochitl died on 26 May 2009 of the injuries.

Mike married Lakiha on 9 June 2009, and the fact of them having a ceremony (though a private one) created controversy, as many people considered Mike should have taken a pause and delayed his wedding, showing some respect for his late daughter. Mike’s third marriage was held at the La Bella Wedding Chapel in the Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas.

Battling Mike Tyson’s drug addiction; current life

Lakiha did her best to help her husband in his battle with drug addiction. She showed true commitment to his emotional and health issues, and Mike called it ‘truly a life-saving experience’ in his interview with People magazine in 2010: ‘I’m very happy me and my wife got together, because I don’t know how I would have survived out there’, he stated. The couple gave birth to their second child, the son Morocco Elijah, on 25 January 2011.

As of 2019, Lakiha and Mike are still together, living another decade in their apparently blissful marriage. The couple was seen at one of the tennis matches of the French Open in June 2018. The paparazzi captured Lakiha carefully wiping sweat off Mike’s face with a paper napkin. Prior to marrying Lakiha, Mike married and divorced twice. His first wife, the model Robin Givens who Mike married in 1988, accused him of domestic violence, and they divorced in 1989. His second wife, Monica Turner, a pediatric resident, lived with Mike for five years, marrying him in 1997 and filing for divorce in 2002, the process finalized in 2003. In 1992 Mike was convicted of the rape of Desiree Washington – the 18-year-old Miss Black Rhode Island was raped in her hotel room in Indianapolis – Mike Tyson insisted that it wasn’t rape, but consensual.

Daughter, Milan Tyson

Lakiha’s older daughter, Milan Tyson, is a multi-talented teen who already plays the piano, takes professional tennis classes – her biggest passion – and even has her own commercial contracts, advertising the products of the cosmetic line “CopperGel”, such as including pain-relief sprays and gels. (Her father, Mike Tyson, is also the face of the brand.) She’s already won several youth championships and met such tennis celebrities as Venus Williams, Milan is also the member of NetGeneration, the organization which develops a welcoming environment for tennis players of all ages. Along with her father, Milan was invited to appear on the Tennis Channel to talk about her activities in NetGeneration, and share her thoughts on her future career. Milan is very active on her Instagram account and her TikTok profile, though they are managed and monitored by her parents.

Son, Morocco Elijah Tyson

Morocco is Lakiha’s second child, born in 2012. He also plays tennis, and is involved in golf and boxing too. In 2018 he flew with his parents to France to visit Roland Garros, and was very inspired with the tournament.

Hobbies, favorite things and interesting facts

Lakiha and Mike both like dogs, so they have one at home named Mars. Whenever she has some spare time, she travels around the globe, taking her kids with her.

Lakiha likes attending various social events with her husband, and he often takes her to the ceremonies and celebrations he is invited to as a guest star. Even though both of her kids have their own Instagram accounts, Lakiha doesn’t have any social media profiles.

Appearance, clothing style

Lakiha has naturally curly black hair and dark brown eyes. She is 5ft 9ins (1.80m) tall and weighs around 132lbs (60kgs).

Net worth and salary

As of 2019, Lakiha and Mike’s joint net worth is estimated to be $10 million. At the peak of his career Mike was worth around $300 million, but wasted his wealth and filed for bankruptcy in 2003, then retired in 2005.
