Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born under the zodiac sign of Aquarius on the 17th February 1963, in New York City’s borough of Brooklyn, the fourth of five children of banker Deloris and mechanic James R. Jordan Sr.
His siblings include two older brothers Larry and James R. Jordan Jr., an older sister Deloris and a younger one named Roslyn. With the increasing crime rate on the streets of Brooklyn in the early 1960s, while he was still in his infancy the family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where he spent the majority of his childhood, and matriculated from Emsley A. Laney High School. As a young basketball prospect playing for his school’s varsity team, Michael was offered numerous basketball scholarships from a variety of colleges, before he chose to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in cultural geography.
His father was murdered in July 1993 while resting on US Highway 74 in his Lexus SC400, which was a gift from Michael, when two thugs appeared, shot him to death and took the car. They were later identified as Daniel Andre Green and Larry Martin Demery and sentenced for life in jail.

Michael Jordan‘s professional basketball career began in 1984 when he was drafted as the pick No.3 overall by the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Chicago Bulls. Playing as the shooting guard, he quickly proved his playing qualities, coming out as a genuine NBA star, gaining reputation for his prolific scoring skills, leaping ability and amazing slam dunks as well as on-point defensive efforts.
