Life before Fame
Diandra Luker spent her childhood on the small island of Majorca, Spain, where she was raised by her Swiss-American father who served as a diplomat, and her Anglo-French mother. Diandra belongs to Caucasian ethnicity. She initially attended a boarding school in Switzerland, and later finished her high school education in the US. Upon matriculation, she enrolled into Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Washington DC, but dropped out in her sophomore year to concentrate on her married life.
As a teenager, Diandra Luker became active in collaborating with charities. She became a part of The Red Cross, which led her to work as a film producer on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Board of Directors documentary, related to their Office of Film and Television. Afterwards, she worked very briefly as a model for the Forbes Models agency, and then made her debut as a producer in 1991, on the episode “Frederic Remington: The Truth of Other Days” of the PBS series “American Masters” dedicated to the greatest artists born or raised in the US.

Two years later, Diandra co-produced another PBS documentary, entitled “Beatrice Woods: Mama of Dada”, alongside Amie Knox, Tom Neff and Olavee Martin. Her next project came in 1996, when she produced the episode “The Birth Of A Sound/Singing Cowboys And Western Swing” of the TV mini-series “America’s Music: The Roots Of Country”. She was then the executive producer of the 1997 documentary “Off The Menu: The Last Days Of Chasen’s” about the exclusive Los Angeles’ restaurant where Academy Awards parties were held for a long time.
