Childhood and education

Michel spent his childhood in France, with his parents and didn’t move to live in the US until the late ‘80s when he met Lisa. He finished high school in Paris and enrolled at a college from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1980.

Not a lot is known about Michel’s career, except for the fact that he is working as an advertising executive in the US.

Marriage with Lisa

The two met for the first time in 1989 when Michel was dating a French girl who was living with Lisa – they split several months later, and in 1992 Lisa and Michel met again and began spending time together, first as friends and later as a couple.

Michel and Lisa began dating in 1993, and married after two years of being together on 27 May 1995, in Malibu, California, in a rather small ceremony as only their closest family and friends were invited to attend. Lisa gave birth to their only child – son Julian Murray Stern – on 7 May 1998 – her pregnancy was made part of the fourth season of the “Friends” TV series, as her character Phoebe was having triplets being a surrogate mother.

Before Michel, Lisa was dating Victor Wilson from whom she broke-up in 1988, then dated Conan O’Brien, who is a TV host, writer, and a comedian, but the two broke-up in 1993.

Lisa Valerie Kudrow was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 30 July 1963 – her birth sign is Leo and her nationality is American. Lisa is an actress, writer and a comedian, best known for playing Phoebe Buffay in the popular “Friends” TV series.

Lisa was born to Nedra S. who was a travel agent and Lee N. who was a physician – she has an older sister Helene Maria, and an older brother named David B. who is a neurologist working in Santa Monica. The family is Jewish, and Lisa is of German, Hungarian, Polish and Belarusian ancestry – Mera Mordejovich, Lisa’s great-grandmother, died during the Holocaust.

Lisa matriculated from Taft High School in Los Angeles. and then enrolled at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. She went on to work for her father’s research team, while making her way into the film industry and creating a name for herself.

She launched her career in comedy when she joined “The Groundlings” improvisational and comedy sketch troupe in 1989 – she was only part of the troupe for a short time, as she founded the “Unexpected Company” improvisational troupe with two of her friends. She won her first TV role in the “Cheers” NBC sitcom, and went on to appear in others shows such as “Bob “Newhart”, and “Close Encounters”.

In 1994, she began playing Ursula Buffay in the “Mad About You” NBC sitcom, and then played Ursula’s twin sister Phoebe in the “Friends” NBC sitcom.

Her applauded performance in the series won her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1998, and she together with Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston became the three highest paid TV series actresses ever – they made $1 million each per episode of the 9th and 10th seasons. While shooting for “Friends”, Lisa also appeared in many comedy movies, including “Hanging Up”, “Dr. Dolittle 2”, and “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” among others.

After “Friends” final episode aired in 2004, Lisa began playing Valerie Cherish in “The Comeback” HBO series, which first aired on 5 June 2005 – it took nine years for the show’s second season to be released, but Lisa’s performance won her two Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy nominations. She became the executive producer of the “Who Do You Think You Are?” American reality TV show, which helps famous people trace their roots – with the help of the same show, Lisa found out about her great-grandmother who was murdered during the Holocaust.

Lisa could have been seen and heard in many TV series throughout the years, including “BoJack Horseman”, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, and “Angie Tribeca” among others – some of the movies she has appeared in include “Hotel for Dogs”, “The Girl on the Train”, and “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising”.
