John is a musician, songwriter, painter, and an actor, best known for his heartland rock songs. John was born with the spina bifida birth defect, and underwent surgery while he was still an infant – he became interested in music at the age of six, and founded his Crepe Soul band after turning 14. John is currently residing five kilometers from Bloomington, Indiana, near Lake Monroe, while he also has houses on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina, and in New York City.
