Gordon was selected as the ninth overall pick in the draft by the Utah Jazz. He showed potential during his freshman year coming off the bench, which led him to join the starting lineup the following year. However, he reverted to the bench where he excelled, and was in the running for Sixth Man of the Year.

After the departure of several veterans, he became one of the big offensive players of the team, reaching highs in numerous statistics, which led to a $63 million four-year offer to re-sign with the Jazz. He continued to reach career highs over the next few seasons, and was able to help his team reach the playoffs several times.
In 2017, after his contract ended, he announced his intention to sign with the Boston Celtics for a value of $128 million over four years, but in his first game of the regular season with the Celtics, he fractured his leg and dislocated his ankle leading him to miss the entire season and undergo two operations.

In 2019, she attracted a bit of controversy when she was recorded during a live stream in which her husband was playing video games, asking if he had enough time to play one more game to which she said no. She also made a joke about how pathetic her life is just watching Gordon play video games. A lot of viewers took offense at her words, and started criticizing her. She later responded to all the criticisms stating that people shouldn’t easily be offended by a joke. She also said that she restricted Gordon’s time, as he was preparing for a workout with the Celtics later in the day.
