Regina’s career started in 1987, when she began working as a production manager for her husband-to-be’s talk show “Late Night With David Letterman”, on 20 episodes over the next two years. The show aired on the NBC network from 1982 to 1993, when it moved to the CBS network – in 2013, the TV Guide magazine ranked it No. 41 on the 60 Best Series of All Time. Regina also assisted the productions of “Late Night with David Letterman: 6th Anniversary Special” (1988) and “Late Night with David Letterman: 7th Anniversary Special” (1989).
In 1989, she was the production manager of an episode of the NBC television show “Saturday Night Live”, and then two years later, Regina worked on two episodes of the NBC soap opera “Another World”. David Michael Letterman was born on 12 April 1947 under the sign of Aries, in Indianapolis, Indiana USA, where he was raised by his mother Dorothy Marie Letterman Mengering, a church secretary for the Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis, and father Harry Joseph Letterman, a florist. Upon matriculation from Broad Ripple High School, David enrolled into Ball State University, in Muncie, Indiana, where he was a part of Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated in 1969.
Career Beginnings
David started his career as a newscaster while still in college, at the college radio station WBST, and later founded another station which is now known as WWHI. Following graduation, he worked as a weatherman and anchor at WNTS (AM) and WLWI (now WTHR), after which he got a chance to cover the Indianapolis 500 for the ABC Sports network. In 1975, David moved to Los Angeles, California to become a comedy writer, and where he spent some time performing at The Comedy Store.
