Early life and education
Stella spent her childhood in Colombia, and became interested in art while attending high school – after matriculation, she began working as an arts dealer.
Career as an actress and other jobs
Stella launched her career when she moved to Los Angeles, California USA, and opened up an antique shop.
After marrying her husband Anthony, Stella launched her acting career, and one of her first appearances was in “The Human Stain” movie shot in 2003. She appeared in an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 2007, and then played Gina in the “Slipstream” drama movie directed by her husband and herself.

Anthony was raised by his father, Richard Arthur Hopkins who was a baker, and his mother Annie Muriel who was a housewife. Anthony was interested in arts and playing the piano while attending elementary school, before enrolling at Jones’ West Monmouth Boys’ School in Pontypool – he later switched to Cowbridge Grammar School where he began believing that he was stupid. He began studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff in 1953 and graduated in 1957, after which he joined the British Army, and stayed in for two years. After that, he enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

He made his debut appearance in 1960 in the play “Have a Cigarette”. He had his first role in a movie in 1964, when he appeared in “Changes”. He became a member of the Royal National Theatre in London in 1965, but his breakthrough came in 1968, when he played Richard the Lionheart in “The Lion in Winter” historical drama movie. He went on to play Charles Dickens in the film “The Great Inimitable Mr. Dickens” in 1970, and in 1972 played David Lloyd George, a British Prime Minister, in the film “Young Winston” .
He appeared in the “Magic” horror movie in 1978, and in film “The Elephant Man” shot in 1980.
He played alongside Mel Gibson in “The Bounty” in 1984, and then Hannibal Lecter in the psychological thriller movie “The Silence of the Lambs” in 1991. He went on to portray Professor Van Helsing in “Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1992.
In 1993, he appeared in “The Remains of the Day” movie, and was rewarded with a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for best actor – in 1994, he appeared in the movie “Legends of the Fall” and in 1997 in “The Edge”.
