The Riches of Alexandre De Meyer
Alexandre De Meyer has a net worth estimated at over $2 million, earned through success in design and the arts. He has his own design company, and has collaborated with several other institutions. During his time with Colby, he may also have benefitted from her net worth, reputedlyclose to $2 million, as of mid-2024.
Life and Career
Alexandre grew up in France and later moved alone to the US where he settled, with most of his family staying in his home country. One of his first jobs was with the design and print shop Going Blind, where he learned more about the intricacies within a design business. Eventually, he left the company to start his own business called Neuf Vies.
He started designing posters, logos, stickers, t-shirts, and many more. One of his biggest achievements is helping with the blueprint design of the L’Aventure Michelin located in Clermont-Ferrand, France. He also helped design the logo for the business 4 Miles 2 Memphis which was one of Colby’s businesses at the time she was working on Antique Archaeology. While details haven’t been revealed about their relationship, it’s generally believed that they grew close while working on the design for her business. The eventually started dating, keeping mostly to themselves.
Former Wife – Danielle Colby
Danielle grew up in Davenport, Iowa and at a young age became very passionate about the performing arts. She was a member of a team called the Big Mouth Mickies, a female team in roller derby, a contact sport between two teams of roller skaters, and played the sport for three years until retiring from it due to injuries.
She then moved to Chicago with her family, and developed an interest in burlesque dancing, thanks to watching performances by Margaret Cho. After returning to Iowa she created her troupe of nine called Burlesque Le Moustache.
She performed with them under the name Dannie Diesel, and the troupe toured the local area. She later started Dannie Diesel’s Bump ‘n’ Grind burlesque academy in Chicago.
Aside from her burlesque work, Danielle started her own clothing company called 4 Miles 2 Memphis, which emphasized retro clothing. From online beginnings, the business eventually established a store in Chicago’s Wicker Park area, however, the business proved to be unsuccessful, closing within a year.
American Pickers
While working on these businesses, Danielle had the opportunity to go on television. Before the start of “American Pickers”, she’d been a friend of host Mike Wolfe for over a decade. The show’s concept was eventually sold to History Channel where it came to fruition. Before the show aired, she was approached by Wolfe and asked to become a part of the office of Antique Archaeology. The show premiered in 2010 and was a huge hit, becoming one of the top-rated non-fiction series of the year.
The show features Wolfe alongside Frank Fritz who are pickers, traveling around the US to check various items for sale or resale. Danielle handles most of the office end of the business in Iowa, and at times goes to their second location in Tennessee. She’s responsible for identifying leads, though the two are also known to stop by places on the off-chance of finding potential items to buy. They often deal with collectors,or those who’ve inherited collections, or hoarders.
The show made one of the strongest debuts since “Ice Road Truckers”, and is also a hit in Australia where it airs as a part of the programming for 7mate.
Personal Life
Alexandre married Danielle in secret in 2015 – he wasn’t her first husband, as she was previously married to Robert Strong and has two children from that marriage. With her marriage to Alexandre, he became close to her children.
However, the two only stayed together for two years before divorcing, quietly ending their relationship the same way it began, without much attention. Since then, she’s reported to be dating artist Jeremy Scheuch. De Meyer, on the other hand, hasn’t been known to be with anyone else.
Akexandre prefers to keep mostly to himself. As an artist, he has a lot of tattoos on his body, evident from some of the photos of him posted online.
