Who is Quinton Aaron?

American actor and singer Quinton Aaron was born in New York City, USA, on 15 August 1984, making Leo his zodiac sign. He has 72 acting credits, but is perhaps still known best for playing the lead character Michael Oher in the critically acclaimed biographical sports movie “The Blind Side”, which also starred Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, and was written and directed by John Lee Hancock. It tells the true story of Michael Oher who was a homeless and traumatized boy, and ended up being the first round pick in the National Football League (NFL); the movie won nine of its 39 award nominations, including an Oscar win for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

Quinton’s currently working on 13 upcoming movies, including “Loaded Deck”, “Stairway to the Stars” and “The Walk-On’s”.

Education and early life

Quinton was raised in The Bronx, New York City solely by his mother Laura Aaron who struggled to provide for them as Quinton was growing up; it’s widely believed that his father abandoned Laura before Quinton was born, but this hasn’t been addressed by the actor.

He had a rather rough childhood as he was bullied because of being overweight, and it’s also been revealed that Quinton once witnessed his mother being physically assaulted; Laura was deeply religious, and she and Quinton went to church every week. He was passionate about singing while growing up, and was a member of the church choir.

Quinton and his mother moved to Augusta, Georgia when he was 14, and he matriculated from a local high school there in 2002; he then found work to financially support himself rather than to pursue a college degree, and around the same time started attending auditions for roles in various movies and TV series.

Roles in movies

Quinton’s debut movie role was playing Vocalist in the 2005 action family comedy “Feliz Navidad”, and the year 2008 saw him play Q in the comedy “Be Kind Rewind”, which starred Yasiin Bey and Jack Black, and was written and directed by Michel Gondry. It follows two men as they’re working at a video rental store, and have inadvertently erased the footage from all the tapes; the movie was nominated for four awards. The year 2009 saw Quinton appear in three movies: The thriller “Play or Be Played”, the short drama “Mr. Brooklyn” and the crime drama “The Ministers”.

In 2013, he portrayed Turtle in the drama “1982”, which starred Omar Benson Miller and Bokeem Woodbine, and was written and directed by Tommy Oliver. It follows a father as he’s trying to hide from his daughter the fact that her mother’s a drug addict, and the film won four of its eight award nominations.

Quinton’s also known for playing Coach Aaron in the 2016 biographical family sports drama “Greater”, which starred Leslie Easterbrook and Neal McDonough, and was written and directed by David L. Hunt. It tells the true story of professional American Football player Brandon Burlsworth, who became the best walk-on in the history of the sport.

Some of Quinton’s most recent film roles have been in the thriller “Clew”, the drama “To Die For” and the family sports drama “Blue Lightning”, all released in 2022.

Roles in TV series

Quinton’s debut TV series role was playing Bouncer in two episodes of the 2007 crime action “Law & Order”, and the year 2010 saw him appear in an episode of both the crime mystery “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and the drama “Mercy”.

In 2011, he played Tommy in the romantic sports drama “One Tree Hill”, which starred James Lafferty and Chad Michael Murray, and was created by Mark Schwahn. It follows the lives of highly competitive half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott, the series aired from 2003 through 2012 and won four of the 32 awards for which it was nominated.

The year 2011 also saw Quinton play Brian Jones in the episode “Last Dance” of the crime comedy “Harry’s Law” and Jacob Campbell in the episode “Bride-a-Palooza” of the comedy “Drop Dead Diva”; his following role came in 2017, when cast to play Tank in the episode “The Vault Association” of the science fiction comedy “Let’s Fall Out”. From 2018 through 2020, he starred as Vick Wilson in seven episodes of the drama “Gods of Medicine”, which also starred Matthew Ryan Robinson and Kevin Kingston, and follows the best doctors in the world as they’re performing the most difficult surgery.

Quinton’s since had only two TV series roles, both in 2020, playing Sammy in the pilot episode of the comedy “Unsubscribe”, and Damien Silver in the episode “Chapter 1” of the romantic comedy mini-series “Locked in Love”.

Other credits

Quinton produced the 2013 short crime movie “Nameless”, the 2016 drama film “Halfway and the 2019 short movie “Dad”.

Quinton usually shies away from sharing the details of his love life with the public, but he nowadays seems to be enjoying making public appearances alongside his girlfriend Jenna Bently.

The two have been together since 2012, and although it remains unknown how they met, it’s widely believed that they were introduced by a mutual friend at a party. Jenna’s a former Playboy model, and was featured in the 2020 adult series “Jerk Off with Me”.

Prior to meeting Jenna, Quinton was in a relationship with Dr. Taryn Marie Stejskal; it’s believed that they were together for two years prior to breaking up for unknown reasons, but this remains unconfirmed.

There are no other girls whom Quinton’s perhaps been with, that we know about; he’s in a long-term relationship with Jenna Bently as of July 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Quinton had rigorous preparations for his role in the movie “The Blind Side”; he worked out twice a day every day, and had to lose a lot of weight, apparently meaning that he didn’t eat anything that tasted ‘good’.

He’s revealed that he wasn’t used to good things happening to him while he was growing up.

Quinton’s deeply religious, and believes that his has helped him become a better person.
