Early life and education
Perry spent her early life in Long Beach, raised by Shelley Garcia and Kenneth Mattfeld who has been working for the Port of Los Angeles as their deputy city attorney since 2003, while he was working in Los Angeles law firms before that and eventually received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School.
Her father also studied at the University of Michigan, from which he received his Bachelor of Science degree in naval architecture and marine engineering.
Perry attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School, and was at the same time practicing acting at Constance Tillotson studio. Career as an actress and a dancer
Perry launched her dancing career before becoming an actress, as she began singing and dancing at the age of three, while she also learned how to play the piano at high school. She started off with ballet at the age of four, and practiced it for nine years before she began learning a variety of styles under the tutoring of Debbie Allen, a famous American choreographer.
Perry’s dancing career helped her become an actress, as she won her role as a dancer in the “Alex in Wonderland” musical.
She continued her work in local theatre and joined the Mattel’s American Girl Theatre in Los Angeles where she was a member of their original singing cast, playing Kirsten Larson and Kit Kittrege from 2005 to 2007.
