Nischelle Renee Turner was born on the 11th February 1975, in Columbia, Missouri USA; an African-American, Nischelle is the daughter of Jacque Turner, while the name of her father isn’t known. After high school matriculation, Nischelle enrolled at the University of Kentucky but left her studies after realizing that journalism was her vocation, and then enrolled at the Journalism School of the University of Missouri, from which she eventually obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism.

Career Beginning

During her time at the University of Missouri, she honed her skills as a reporter and producer at the only co-operating station, KOMU-TV, an NBC affiliate. Once she graduated, Nischelle joined WEHT ABC, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, where she remained for a year and a half gaining experience, and then joining the WVUE-TV FOX8 in New Orleans, as the station’s new weekday reporter and anchor.One of her tasks was to cover Hurricane Katrina, and Nischelle also served as the sideline reporter and color commentator on the National Football League (NFL) in the show “NFL on FOX”.

Her dedication and hard work propelled her into the television world, and she was hired by “Good Day LA”, where she informed the public about news, weather, and entertainment. She was slowly becoming more popular, and became the host of the web show “Extra on Essence”, a collaboration between “Extra” and “Essence” magazines.
