His mom, Becky Luna, is an Irish-American, who worked as a teacher for most of her career, but is now in retirement and devoted to her Twitter account. As for Miles’s dad, there is not much information on him, other than that he likes to be called Papa Luna due to his Hispanic roots, and that he loves Saturday Night Live. Miles grew up with a younger brother named Dylan, born on 25 April 1994. Fans of Rooster Teeth are familiar with Dylan as the character who inspired Miles’s younger brother, famously depicted as being pushed down the stairs in the Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures episode entitled “A Staircase of Assault.” Dylan is an avid athlete and loves to stream his gaming experiences on Twitch. Upon his acceptance into UT in 2009, Miles encountered several individuals who would become his future colleagues at Rooster Teeth, among them Blaine Gibson, Lindsay Jones, and Kyle Taylor. When Miles graduated in 2012, he was already a relatively formed writer with a clear idea of what he wanted to do and what kind of cartoons he could make. His first application to work as an intern at Nickelodeon didn’t go so well – he didn’t make it out of the first round of the application process. At Cartoon Network, things went a little better, but he still failed to pass the second round of the test. This failure got to him, but then, something unexpected happened. Miles expressed his initial disappointment, stating that he felt heartbroken. However, his perspective shifted when he received an internship offer from Rooster Teeth. Despite realizing it wasn’t his initial desired path, he saw it as an opportunity to gain valuable experience and learn along the way. This realization prompted laughter from both Miles and the audience. He reflected on his newfound appreciation, admitting he had never been happier to experience failure in obtaining internships. Getting Settled at Rooster Teeth

Miles had his start with Rooster Teeth as an assistant writer on the popular science fiction “Red vs. Blue” mini-series during seasons nine and ten, which received new life under Miles’s watchful eye. Not too long after his writing debut, he was promoted by Burnie Burns into a dual writer and director role, which effectively gave him control over the entire “Red vs. Blue” series.
