Matteo Bocelli

Not only is Matteo Bocelli the son of the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. he’s also a talented singer and celebrity in his own right. The young musician, who was born in Fortei de Marmi, Italy, on 8th October 1997, has worked with talented artists such as pop superstar Sebastián Yatra, and performed live on the “Kelly Clarkson Show”.

Matteo began learning how to play the piano at six years of age, and was taught by his father until he began studying at the Conservatorio de Lucca. As the years passed, he was encouraged by his mother, Enrica, to start singing.

Career & Net Worth

Being as interested in music as he was in sports, Matteo finally decided to study under his father’s tutelage in 2015. After receiving positive feedback from Marcello Rota and other famous musicians, he began considering the possibility of a full-time career in music. During his teenage years, he also showcased his skill as a pianist in charitable private events, performing in concerts at hospitals and retirement homes, both solo and with his brother Amos.

Aged 18, he performed as a tenor for the first time in the open-air amphitheater Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico, Tuscany. Performing alongside Sumi Jo, Leo Nucci, and other musicians to a crowd of over ten thousand spectators, Matteo sang “La traviata” and “Il trovatore”. At that point, Andrea began helping his son by taking him to high-profile public events such as the Bolgheri Melody Festival and the Giornata Mondiale della Poesia, where they performed together.

Now in March 2017, he sang solo in the US at the David Foster and Friends competition for the Horatio Alger Award, where he received enthusiastic feedback and a warm welcome. To date, Matteo has also performed at Palazzo Pitti and the Cloister of the Basilica of Santa Croce.

Two years after debuting as a tenor in 2016, Matteo sang an emotional duet with his famous father – “Fall on me” – that helped take his fledging musical career to new levels. Matteo’s solo musical career began in 2021; his greatest hits include “Solo”, “Tu Luz Quedó”, and “Close”, and with his music videos racking up millions of views on YouTube, he’s doing a great job at continuing the prestigious Bocelli family legacy. Apart from performing with his brother Amos, he has also sung alongside his sister Virginia on many occasions.

Some of the European cities Matteo will be visiting include Warsaw, Vienna, and Munich, whereas a handful of his US performances will take place in different cities in Arizona, California, and New York. His debut solo album, Matteo, is also set for a September 2023 release date.

As well as juggling his thriving music career, Matteo is known for his philanthropical pursuits, and is an active member of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation – according to the foundation, its mission is to “empower people and communities suffering from disease, poverty, and social exclusion”.

With over half a million followers on Instagram, Matteo not only uses his social media platforms to promote his work, but to show fans his more laidback and playful side. From sharing vacation snaps to photos of skiing trips with his friends, Matteo has a plentiful work-life balance and never forgets to make time for his nearest and dearest.

As of 2023, Matteo has an estimated net worth of close to $1 million, which will surely keep growing as he continues to make strides in his promising career. For now, most sources believe that he’s single and focusing on his craft.

Family

Matteo’s father, Andrea Bocelli, was born in September 1958 and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1992. The Italian tenor was born with congenital glaucoma, and became completely blind at just 12 years old after a football accident that resulted in a brain hemorrhage.

After competing in local singing contests and doing evening performances at piano bars, Andrea signed his first recording contract with the Sugar Music label. However, he wouldn’t rise to fame until 1994, when his rendition of “Il mare calmo della sera” won him the newcomer’s award at the 44th Sanremo Musical Festival.

Since then, Andrea has become an unstoppable force in the music world, recording over 15 solo studio albums, nine complete operas, and three greatest hits albums. As well as selling over 75 million albums around the globe, the tenor has also been a successful crossover performer, responsible for bringing classical musical to the top of the international pop charts.

Other highlights in Andrea’s lengthy career include dueting with Celine Dion for the animated film “Quest for Camelot”, being nominated for Best New Artist at the 1999 Grammy Awards, being listed in the “Guinness Book of World Records”, and being named one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1998.

Regarding Andrea’s personal life, he met his first wife Enrica early in his career, while singing at piano bars. They married in June 1992 and welcomed their two children, Amos and Matteo, in February 1995 and October 1997 respectively. The couple separated for undisclosed reasons in 2002; coincidentally, Andrea met his second wife, Veronica, in the same year.

In 2011, Andrea and Veronica announced that they were expecting a child. Their daughter, Virginia, was born in March 2012. Two years later, the couple tied the knot at the Sanctuary of Montenero; as of 2023, they reside in Forte dei Marmi, where Matteo was born. Although Veronica doesn’t seek the spotlight or wish to become a celebrity, she is known to be a business-savvy woman, and an excellent manager to her husband.

Andrea’s net worth is over $100 million. The bulk of his vast fortune is thanks to his record sales and his property portfolio, which includes homes in North Miami and Italy.
