Early life and education

Lauren spent her childhood in Orange County alongside her two siblings, Brooke and Liam, and her parents Debra Kelly and Thomas Parsekian – Debra was an actress who appeared in “Prizzi’s Honor” movie in 1985 and “CHiPs” in 1997, and was very popular during her career.. Lauren’s father was also a bit of an actor, and appeared in the “Hot Resort” movie in 1985, and “Club Life” in 1986. Lauren found comfort in movies, as she was bullied at elementary school, and ended up suffering from depression and an eating disorder – this led her to try and commit suicide. She got better through therapy, enrolled at high school, and then studied at Pepperdine University in Malibu,California, from which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film-making in 2009.

Career as a TV personality and a producer

The first film Lauren worked on was “Finding Kind”, a documentary which she produced with her friend Molly Thompson – the two travelled around California for two months to create the movie, released in 2011. Lauren, mostly motivated by the problems she had with bullying in the past, decided to create a movie which would show how girls abuse other girls. The movie had a major effect on society, and helped launch the Kind Campaign, which has a goal of spreading love, and teaching girls how to be kind to one another.

She went on to appear in the “NCIS: Special Agent DiNozzo Visits Dr. Phil” comedy video on YouTube, and was then invited as a guest on “Dr. Phil” in 2009, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in 2014, and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2016, among others.
