Lauren German spent her early years in her hometown of Huntington Beach, where she was raised by her parents; her father works as a vascular surgeon. Her nationality is American, and she belongs to White Caucasian ethnic group. Lauren went to Los Alamitos High School. She even attended Orange County High School of the Arts, where she trained in dance. Upon matriculation, she enrolled into the University of Southern California to study Anthropology.

Career Beginnings

Lauren German started her acting career on stage, since she initially performed in the productions of “Oliver” and “Peter Pan”. In 2000, she made her debut TV appearance in the role of Kimmy in an episode of the MTV anthology series “Undressed”, followed by her film debut as a lovestruck woman in the romantic comedy-drama film “Down To You”, starring next to Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Stiles. In 2001, she guest-starred as Marie in the episode “Apologize” of The WB’s family drama series “7th Heaven”, and then played Beth in the made-for-TV film “Shotgun Love Dolls”.

Lauren came to prominence in 2002, when she appeared in the coming-of-age romantic tragedy film “A Walk To Remember”, playing Belinda, the ex-girlfriend of Landon Carter, portrayed by Shane West, in the film directed by Adam Shankman and based on the novel of the same name written by Nicholas Sparks. Thereafter, she starred as Darcy Peters in the horror “Dead Above Ground”, followed by her portrayal of Elena in the drama “A Midsummer Night’s Rave”, both in 2002.

In the following year, Lauren featured as Emily Landry in the made-for-TV western action film “The Lone Ranger”, after which she played a suicidal hitchhiker in Marcus Nispel’s 2003 horror “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, since she lost the lead role to Jessica Biel.

Continued Success

In 2005, Lauren was selected to play Rose Miller in the UPN soap opera “Sex, Love & Secrets”; however, it was canceled after one season.
