Early life and education
Katherine grew up in Los Angeles where she was raised by her mother Manuela Herzer and her father who is a taxi driver, however, it was not an easy childhood for Katherine after her mother died in a fire accident when Katherine was four.
She has two older siblings, and her brother became mentally unstable after the death of their mother. As their father was working most of the time and was rarely at home, Katherine took it upon herself to take care of her brother, who had to drop out of school to avoid pressure and stress.
Katherine attended a local high school in Los Angeles, and began showing an interest in arts, but while she didn’t have the money to pay for her lessons, she watched other teenagers dance and act, and learned from watching them. To help her father support the family, she worked as a waitress at a local restaurant.
After matriculation in 2015, she enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2019. While attending university, she completed her internship in the office of Al Gore, the vice president, and helped him with his project related to climate change and its dangers.

Katherine’s acting career was actually launched when she was six years old, appearing in the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” movie which stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The movie was a huge success, grossing over $478 million only in the US – it follows the story of a bored married couple, who eventually discover that they are both assassins, and have been hired to kill one another. Her next role came when she was eight years old in “A Lot Like Love”, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, and follows Emily and Oliver who join the mile high club together while travelling, and then keep on bumping into each other during the next seven years.
She made her debut TV series appearance in “The Mentalist” in 2011. The crime drama mystery TV series which aired between 2008 and 2015 follows the story of a famous psychic who admits he is fake, and starts working for the California Bureau of Investigation to help them find the Red John man who killed his wife and daughter. She played in a single episode of the “NCIS” crime detective TV series, before she began portraying Alison McCord in the “Madam Secretary” drama series.
The role made her somewhat popular in the US, as she appeared in 111 episodes from 2014 to 2019 in the series which follows the story of the Secretary of State who tries to juggle her work with her family life.
Katherine is also known for portraying Lauren in the “Men, Women & Children” comedy drama film in 2014. The story follows the lives of high school teenagers and their families, and shows how the internet changed their relationships, communication, and their love lives.

Hobbies and other interests
Katherine is a huge fan of the music industry, and grew up wanting to become a singer, but soon found out that she was not very goodt. She enjoys listening to pop music, with some of her favorite singers being Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. She likes to travel, and has been to several states in the US to shoot for TV series and movies, while her dream destination is Paris, France. She is a big lover of animals as she has two pet dogs of her own, and is an advocate for the preservation of endangered species.
She has volunteered at an animal shelter close to her home, and has also worked with several charity organizations over the years. Katherine is physically very active, and has three training session at the gym each week, and occasionally goes swimming and running.
