Who is Kate Bilo?
Kate Bilo was born on 20 June 1986, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA, and is a weather reporter, best known for being a part of the crew of “Eye Witness News” which airs on CBS 3. She’s been with the company since 2010, and serves the network as their chief meteorologist.
The Riches of Kate Bilo
Kate Bilo has a net worth estimated to be over $1 million, as of mid-2024, earned largely through success in her work as a meteorologist.
She’s earned a lot of income thanks to her position, and has also worked with other high profile companies during her career.
Early Life and Education
Kate grew up in Phoenixville and became very interested in weather at a young age. After classes, she would often listen to weather forecasts and draw charts based on reports from television and newspapers. However, she didn’t initially think that she would have a weather-related job.
After matriculating from high school, she enrolled at Penn State University, taking up a degree in Spanish Language and International Business. PSU is known as one of the Public Ivies, universities with education on a par with the private Ivy League.
After completing her degree, she discovered that she wanted to pursue weather reporting, so studied at Mississippi State University for a degree in Geosciences & Meteorology.
Career Beginnings
Kate began her career working with the company AccuWeather, taking the job immediately as it was a way to pay off her college tuition debt. The company is known for providing weather forecasting services around the world, was founded by a Pennsylvania State University graduate student in 1962, and has grown to become a very large company, with offices around the world.
Thanks to her tenure there, Kate was able to work with news networks such as ABC, CBN, and Fox News, doing broadcasts on television and radio.
She stayed with AccuWeather for five years, and left in 2010 when she was offered a contract to join Bloomberg Television, the American television network of Bloomberg LP which is headquartered in New York City. Bloomberg broadcasts around the world, with its programming, focused on business and the capital markets.
She continued forecasting as a part of her work there, even though its programming didn’t necessarily focus on weather conditions. The work also led her to have roles on Bloomberg’s online platforms, contributing to their social media accounts while providing off-air news updates.
CBS3 Eye Witness
While working with Bloomberg, Kate also became a meteorologist at CBS3, doing weather forecasts and severe weather coverage, serving Philadelphia and the nearby areas in Pennsylvania. With her work, she
also became involved in several of the network’s shows. She had a guest-hosting gig in “The Talk”, a popular CBS daytime talk show created by Sara Gilbert, which discusses the headlines of the day, members of a panel giving their opinions. The show’s overarching theme is parenthood, and the panelists often try to integrate their discussions towards that topic.
As Kate stayed with the company, she worked her way up and was eventually promoted to become chief meteorologist of the station. She usually does work during weeknights, providing weather forecasts early in the night, and just before midnight.
She uses some of her free time to contribute to charities, having collaborated with the Free Library of Philadelphia several times, helping out with their summer reading program, and has been named the organization’s champion of reading; she often visits the library to encourage children to read, and to read to them as well.
Personal Life
Bilo is married to Scott who is a senior software engineer. The couple first met when they both worked at Accuweather, and began their relationship there. He actually proposed to her while she was on-air. They have three children together.

One of her biggest weather interests is tornadoes, and it is her dream to one day chase a tornado while on the plains. She loves spending time with her family, and staying healthy. She goes on long walks, and cycling is one of her main forms of exercise. She also travels around the country with her family during vacations.
