Five months ago we started with a timeslot and a white board and created #callitanight and #drinkswithbinks – I’m so proud of my (small) but courageous team from @fubosports – @duckyny @themikegange @imdancarroll @mikejlockyer @todd.hirshenson @jatracy24 @jaydrinksbeer @danielle_garnes & JB Kritz, as well as the tremendous marketing, advertising and backend support from @fubotv and our hardworking and experienced crew at Live X Studios. There are countless others across the country who have worked SO HARD, and are probably feeling burnt out after a whirlwind 3 months. I can’t thank everyone enough for helping create a fantastic product. I take nothing for granted and am so honoured to be given this incredible opportunity. These things don’t happen overnight, and we’ve all worked our butts off to make this thing fly. . . We couldn’t have had an much success out of the gate without our fantastic guests (of which there are many) who went out of their way to be on my show, many of whom I harassed for months to come on. @realnickmangold @tombergeron @thisistomgreen @thetomarnold @trey.wingo @taylorrooks @dp_show @themichaelsmith @mikeson @adnansvirk @jackieredmond @lg__red @ryannece @thewilderthings @jessicasmetana @grant_wahl @adamlefkoe @atoomer81 @funkmastermma @kazeem @ib_that_rasp_on_tv @stevocaldwell @darrenrovell @notalexis @christian_polanco @imseanavery @jimmieallen @jeremyroenick @guster @curtmenefee @ronduguay10 @jwiz21 @kylebrandt @jilliansakovits @tinacervasio @reneeyoungwwe @diannaespn @chrisdcomedy @sammorril @jshombs Cole Wright, Nelson Figueroa, Tim Doyle, Ian Begley

She continued her education at the City, University of London in England from which she obtained her Master’s degree in international broadcast journalism.

Career as a journalist

Julie launched her career in journalism in 2010, when she started working for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a program assistant – at the beginning mostly focused on reporting on the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team which competes in the National Hockey League (NHL). In the summer of 2011, she became the anchor for the Fox Soccer Channel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, simultaneously working for CTV TV Network as their reporter.

She joined the Fox Sports network in June 2013, and began as their news update anchor – she moved to Los Angeles in California for this job, hosted their “Fox Soccer Daily” show, and was given the chance to cover the Winter Olympic Games held in Sochi, Russia in 2014. She also covered the Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star Game played in Denver, as well as several other MLS games – she became the regular sideline reporter for MLS matches for Fox in 2015.

Julie left Fox Sports when she was hired by ESPN in December 2016 – she served as their sideline reporter for MLS as well as USA Men’s and Women’s National Team games. Julie is the first woman who has called two MLS Cups for two networks, in her case Fox and ESPN.

She became the host of the Basrstool Sports’ “Barstool Breakfast” radio show on Sirius XM 85 in 2017, but left the show in the summer of 2018, and took some time off to think about what she wanted to do next with her career. She joined the Fubo Sports Network on 9 September 2019, and began hosting two of their sports shows entitled “Drinks With Binks” and “Call It A Night with Julie Stewart Binks”. Perhaps her ultimate accolade was commentationg of the Stanley Cup play-offs in 2022.

Love life and relationships

Julie was dating her college sweetheart for several years, but the two split after her career became demanding and she had less time to dedicate to her boyfriend.

It is believed that Julie then dated Eric Stonestreet, an American actor and comedian, as the two were seen attending several events together.

They were first noticed by the audience at a hockey match in 2014, and were afterwards seen at numerous other matches as well as other sporting events. Neither Eric nor Julie have talked about their relationship, but it is believed by most people that the two dated for more than four years, but then separated.

There were rumours that Julie married Ethan Louis Boroian in, which proved unfounded. Julie is apparently still single, as of mid-2024.

Julie has volunteered with organizations which help underprivileged children, and as a teenager occasionally volunteered at an animal shelter together with her friends – her family had a Labrador pet dog while she was growing-up, but Julie doesn’t have any pets today.
