When it comes to Jessica’s ethnicity, she is biracial, of Russian, Italian and African descent. As for her education, after matriculating from high school, Jessica went on to enroll at Mount Royal College in her hometown Calgary, where she studied Theater Arts.

Jessica first started acting from a very young age, specifically in theater productions when she was seven.

However, it was only during her junior year of high school that she realized that acting was her dream. In addition, Jessica has also been classically trained in singing, and has been a part of a choir in the past.

 2006-2008

Her first acting job was in a TV movie called “Santa Baby” in 2006. After this, she secured a role in the much-adored film called “Another Cinderella Story”. The musical comedy released in 2008 on DVD was a hit!

The lead role went to one of the most popular singers and actors at the time – Selena Gomez, with Jessica in the role of Tami, Selena’s character’s best friend, which helped her breakthrough. Furthermore, Jessica also had the part of Bette Sans Souci, otherwise known as Plastique, in three episodes of “Smallville”.

Her character is a heroine from DC Comics, a teenager who has superpowers, one of them being able to emit high energy forces from her body.

2018

In 2018 she played the role of Barry Allen’s daughter, Nora West-Allan also known as XS, in the show “The Flash”. She was firstly the “mysterious girl with super-speed”, who helped them destroy a falling satellite, only to later appear at a baby shower of Joe West and Cecile Horton saying that she was Nora, the daughter of Barry Allen and Iris West.

Her character ultimately revealed that she grew up without her father, raised by her mother.

Jessica shares little of her private affairs – she claims that she has never married, though she has shown an interest in marriage by saying that “it’s about time” and that she’s single and ready to mingle. Jessica stated that she isn’t in search of the perfect “cookie-cutter man”, but a man who doesn’t take himself seriously, and someone who can make her laugh.

In 2014 she was spotted with her co-star Luke Arnold at various destinations in Vancouver, where the series “Black Sails” was shot. Luke taught her how to surf, and Jessica showed him how to snowboard. Even though at first they said that they are friends, there were people saying that they had become romantically involved. However, Jessica and her management team have denied any and all dating rumors, while Luke insists that he is single.
