Early life, family, educational background
Jenny Milkowski was born on 14 January 1984, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, growing-up on the Northern which is a Polish neighbourhood – both of Jenny’s parents were born and raised in Poland. In the 1970s, Jenny’s mom completed her nurse training in the Tarnow area of Poland, then moved to the US when she was 21. Jenny’s father came to Chicago when he was seven years old, with his brothers and mother. Jenny’s parents met at her paternal grandfather’s shop, and married shortly afterwards.
Jenny and her younger sister, Diana, found it challenging to fluently understand English in preschool; they attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette, and on Saturdays, she went to a St. Constance Polish school, on the Northwest Side.
Due to her attending regular school, Jenny could speak English masterfully by first grade, making her fluent in two languages. From 2002 to 2006, she attended the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism when she was 22. During her time at university, Jenny worked as a news anchor for the WPGU 107.1 radio station, which is student-run.
Jenny also studied acting at The Second City Training Center, and the Acting Studio Chicago, then specifically the art of improvisation for several years at The Second City Chicago, as well as on-camera hosting, acting and voice-over.
Career
Jenny became a traffic and weather radio anchor, social media influencer and segment host. She has reported for and hosted several shows surrounding topics including food, real estate, social media, technology and lifestyle. Once graduated, Jenny became a television reporter for Rockfleet network, and subsequently worked for stations such as WGN-TV and DevHour.TV. For ChicagoNow of the Chicago Tribune Media Group, she wrote a humorous blog post about her love and relationship, viewed over 1.43 million times in a month. She also worked for the Chicago Tribune Media Group for two years. Besides being a reporter and journalist, from November 2007 to September 2012, Jenny was a producer for CLTV and WGN Channel 9, and then became a producer and writer for CBS Channel 2.
Jenny worked as a traffic reporter for many major Chicago stations including WLIT, Kiss FM, WGCI and WVAZ. In 2011, she co-founded a Chicago-based media company, MUU Media LLC, which specialises in video and hosting needs. She had her breakthrough, career-wise, in 2012 when she became a Newswriter and Television Producer for CBC Corporation. Jenny was nominated for several Emmy awards for her writing and producing work on CBC, during 2012 and 2015, as well as for her work as a Traffic Reporter at Total Traffic Network. She had joined the Total Traffic & Weather Network in 2013. Jenny won her Emmy in 2015. She wrote and produced the news for various stations and was their on-air traffic reporter.
For approximately three years, Jenny was Fox 32’s go-to anchor for the morning traffic, and fill-in for other segments on “Good Day Chicago”, including checking-out charity events, art exhibits and local restaurants. Despite all her hard work, Fox 32 fired Jenny, told that they wanted a more serious traffic reporter. Although she was sad to lose her job and not get the chance to say farewell to the viewers, Jenny has no ill feelings towards the Fox 32 company members.
She released an independent statement via her social media accounts, ‘What saddens me most is that I was not able to say goodbye to the people who matter the most…the viewers. That breaks my heart. The reason this is so long is because I feel like I owe my viewers an explanation.
My heart breaks as I write this, but I know great things are in store and I will continue to inform and entertain people on many media platforms.’ Jenny was the traffic reporter for major radio stations, and WFLD-TV’s traffic anchor in Chicago, alongside famed journalists; Maurice DuBois, David Novarro and Tamron Hall. During the afternoon drive, she co-hosted the radio show, “Jenny Milk and Jay,” with Jay Styles. “Jenny Milk and Jay,” was broadcast on WSHE-FM 100.3, the third-largest radio market. The show received its name from Jenny’s childhood nickname, ‘Jenny Milk’ she also served as a producer of the show. Early September 2018, Jenny’s resignation from Hubbard Radio AC WSHE/Chicago was announced – Robert Feder praised Jenny upon her departure, saying, ‘While sad that Jenny Milk is leaving, we’re excited for her and wish her all the best in her new career adventure.’
She was named the number one digital talent in the Chicago Market and is a prominent name in digital media.
A month later, she began working for the Tegna television station in San Diego – KFMB-TV. Jenny promoted her move to KFMB on Instagram with a photograph captioned, ‘First promo for CBS 8 Morning News in San Diego! Watch me ride a Lime Scooter in heels.’ She is the host of News 8’s morning show.
Jenny has a substantial background in producing live shows, and experience in writing, editing and some filming – she believes that being a master of all media is essential. Jenny has also shown off her acting skills by appearing in several movies, including 2012’s “The GUI Show,” 2014’s “Saving Leonard,” and 2017’s “The Mix.”

In 2017, Jenny continued to name celebrities as her boyfriend. In a Facebook post on 7 February she stated that Charlie Day, an American actor, is her future husband. On 19 March, she sent a comedic tweet which referred to her boyfriend having googled, ‘how to tell if your pants are too tight.’ On 28 September, Jenny said she considers herself a dating expert, but some people disagree due to a large amount of uncertainty surrounding her supposed relationships, or the status thereof.
On 13 April 2018, Jenny got more personal and open about her love life. She alluded to having a boyfriend but said that it felt childish to call him her boyfriend, but could not call him her husband as they were not married. Instead, Jenny prefers to call her lovers, her ‘partner.’
It seems that things did not work out between the two because, on Valentine’s Day of 2019, Jenny revealed that she is single. Her Instagram post addressed single people, and she captioned it, ‘table for one, but drinks for two’. She has since remained as secretive, private and inconsistent about her personal life as she was before.
