Early life and family
Jason Maybaum was born on 31 August 2007, in Los Angeles, California USA – his zodiac sign is Virgo, and he holds American nationality. His family have supported him in his desire to become an actor, and his mother Laurie acts as his manager. Jason once posted a photo of her on her birthday and apologized that they had to spend the whole day on the set instead of celebrating her birthday at home with the family, though the whole family understood what it was like to be an actor.
Jason is now attending his local secondary school in Los Angeles, trying not to miss too many classes he sometimes had to neglect, due to his tight filming schedule. His mother helps him a lot not to have gaps in his schooling program, and does his homework with him.
Jason started his acting career when he was only seven years old. His mother took him to the casting, and he landed the role of Eli in two episodes of “Blunt Talk” in 2015: “The Queen of Hearts” and “Meth or No Meth, You Still Gotta Floss” aired on 19 September and 3 October respectively. Jason landed the role of Oliver in the TV movie “The Perfect Stanleys”, also released in 2015, with Jason sharing the screen with Matt Letscher, Liza Lapira and Jenna Elfman.
In February 2016 he was cast as Bratty Son in the TV sitcom “Workaholics”, appearing in the episode entitled “Night at the Dudeseum”. On 6 April 2017 Jason appeared as Leo in NBC’s sitcom “Superstone” in the episode entitled “Glenn’s Kids”, then played Levi Grayson in the series “Raven’s Home”, in which Anneliese van der Pol portrayed his on-screen mother, Chelsea Grayson – the series gained Jason a big wave of popularity, as it also featured such talented actors as Sky Katz, Raven-Symoné and Issac Ryan Brown. Jason won his first award for his performance in the sitcom, as the Best Leading Young Actor in Television Series at the 2018 Young Entertainer Awards event.
“Raven’s Home” has also become one of the most popular series on the Disney Channel, with four seasons as of early 2020, with Jason still in the regular cast. The series also has a spin-off – “That’s So Raven” – in which Jason also appears in several episodes.
Further acting career

Jason later portrayed Dale in the series “Teachers”, appearing in the episode “Nightmare on Fillmore Street”, aired on 28 November 2017. He also landed the role of a young version of George Lazenby in “Becoming Bond” the same year. Jason could also be seen in such music videos as “Ain’t It Funny” by David Brown and “Disney Channel Stars: DuckTales Theme Song”. In 2018 Jason landed the role of Fletcher Blake in “Freaky Friday” fantasy musical, aired on Disney Channel, featuring other young talents Heidi Blickentaff and Cozi Zuehlsdorff. In 2019 Jason appeared as a young son in the successful thriller “Desperate Waters”, sharing the screen with Charlene Amoia and Matthew Lawrence.
In 2020 Jason is playing Max in the series “Resident Alien”, a sci-fi drama about Harry, the crash-landed alien.
Participating in “Dancing With The Stars: Juniors”
Jason participated in the dance show “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors”, Season 1, in October 2018, paired with young professional dancer Elliana Walmsley, who is famous for her appearance in the super popular dance show “Dance Moms” and was trained by the legendary Abby Lee Miller. Emma Slater, the choreographer and professional dancer, acted as their mentor. Their first dance was a cha-cha-cha, performed to the song “Bills” by LunchMoney Lewis. For the second show Jason and Elliana jived to the Metro Station music band’s song “Shake It”.
The third week was harder, though Jason and Elliana made it to complete the competition stage safe, performing a foxtrot to Jordan Fisher and Olivia Hot’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”, which was included in the soundtrack of “Toy Story”, the animation movie; Jason and Elliana wore costumes of the main characters of the cartoon. Week 4 went easier for Jason, as he performed the Argentine tango brilliantly, portraying a vampire to the song “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer. The fifth week of the show was the last one for Jason and Elliana, as their jazz dance couldn’t keep them from being eliminated. It is worth saying that the show also had Mackenzie Ziegler in the cast of professional dancers; Mackenzie is the younger sister of Madison “Maddie” Ziegler, the star of Sia’s series of music videos, including “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart” and “Cheap Thrills”.
