Jason fell in love with music at a very early age, and began taking singing classes when he was five – however, he soon realized he was not much of a singer, and instead focused on playing string instruments, mostly the violin. Jason enrolled at a local high school, and had a rather normal childhood, going out and partying with his friends – after matriculation, he focused on his career as a musician and didn’t enroll at college, however, he apparently studied violin at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City.
Career of a musician and a reporter
Jason launched his career soon after matriculation, as he became part of The Band Perry music band, and served as their fiddle player – The Band Perry plays country music which is Jason’s favorite genre. He loved music and ,was popular thanks to his skill at playing the violin, however, a couple of things eventually made Jason want to switch from music to something else.
Jason and The Band Perry had numerous tours together, meaning that he was rarely at home, however, he didn’t mind this at first as he enjoyed travelling and partying with other band members.
Although he was very fond of the attention he was getting and fun he was having, after marrying, Jason came to realize he could no longer go on with that kind of life as he had his wife at home and rarely saw her due to his tours with his band.
It was a big step for Jason to leave his career as a musician behind him, but it seems that he has done it without much effort, and very successfully. He began working for the ESPN network as their sports broadcaster in 2016, and it didn’t take long for him to get used to his new job as he was already into sports, and was keeping up with the news from several of them.
Jason has also made a couple of bad or wrong decisions during the time he has spent working for the ESPN network. He was once asked by a fan, who is the person from the country music industry that he would most gladly punch in the face – instead of refusing to answer the question, Jason stated that this would probably be Alan Jackson. Luckily for him, this hasn’t affected Jason’s career in any way, and he went on to be promoted to a national sports broadcaster on 2 January 2018.
Jason served as a co-host of the “Spain and Fitz” ESPN radio show, which aired weeknights from 5 pm to 8 pm, but stopped in May 2019. Today, Jason can be heard co-hosting the “Golic and Wingo” weekday morning drive show, while he is also the host of the “First and Last” ESPN radio show which airs every weekday from 5 to 6 am.
Wife and love life
Jason is one of the most secretive people out there, as he hasn’t shared any details regarding his wife or any past affairs with the public.
Being as popular as he is, some things about Jason’s love life have been revealed to the public. He is a married man as he exchanged his wedding vows with Sunny on 8 September 2007 – the two have not shared how or where they met for the first time, and are keeping their personal matters to themselves. It doesn’t appear that they are thinking about starting a family together anytime soon, as both of them are currently focused on working on their careers.
Jason hasn’t talked about any other women he might have dated before Sunny, and therefore nothing about his past affairs can be claimed with certainty – there are no rumors or controversies surrounding his marriage with Sunny, and the two appear to be leading a happy life together.
Interests and hobbies
Although he is mostly focused on his career of a sports broadcaster, there are numerous other things Jason enjoys doing in his free time. He is still quite interested in music, and even though he hasn’t been part of a band for several years now, he still occasionally plays his violin, but mostly solely for his wife.
He is a big fan of tattoos, and has had several inked onto his skin over the years. Both Jason and his wife Sunny are lovers of animals, and have a dog named Carlie Barkley who seems to be there as a compensation for them not having any kids. The family of three enjoys camping in the woods together, which is the main way they usually spend their holidays.
Appearance and net worth
Jason has short brown hair and brown eyes, while his height and weight are not known.
According to authoritative sources, Jason’s current net worth is estimated to be close to $1 million, most of which he’s gathered thanks to his career of a musician.
Social media presence
Jason is quite active on several popular social media networks, but not as popular as one might have thought.
He launched his Twitter account in October 2011, and his Instagram account soon afterwards – Jason is running a Facebook page as well, entitled “Jason Fitz Sports”, which counts nearly 1,600 fans.

Congratulations! I heard you on Golic and Wingo and am thrilled for your own show.
Comment on “the kneel” – and the one who chose to make this an issue was:
Colin Kaepernick’s lawyer slammed the NFL’s team owners for blackballing the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback from professional football, and accused them of colluding together in response to President Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on players who protest during the national anthem.
“The collusion actually was the NFL kowtowing to the president — I think it’s clear,” high-profile attorney Mark Geragos said Thursday in an exclusive interview on “Today.”
I live in San Diego and have followed Drew Breeze since he was here.
I have come to believe most people are politically mentally wired in way or the other or lean more to one side or the other.
I have several friends whose politics differ from mine and I wouldn’t dream of trying to change their
opinion, although they tend to test me with questions re different issues.
To me Drew’s statement went way deeper than honoring the flag – and he didn’t even know it.
