Who is Ines Rau?
French model Ines-Loan Rau was born in Paris, France, on 18 March 1990, making Pisces her zodiac sign. She was born a male, and was 16 when she underwent gender-affirming surgery, after having been inspired by British transgender model Caroline ‘Tula’ Cossey.
Ines gained recognition in November 2017, when she was “Playboy” magazine’s Playmate of the Month, thus becoming the first trans Playmate.
Education and early life
Ines was raised in Paris by her parents of Algerian descent; she hasn’t shared many details about her father and mother, as they prefer to be left out of media, and it’s believed that she’s not on good terms with them because they don’t support her gender change. Ines hasn’t spoken about having siblings, and is thus believed to be an only child.
She was bullied at elementary school as she was still male, but enjoyed dressing up and behaving as a girl. Ines moved on to high school in 2004, and enjoyed playing several sports during her time there, while she also took dance lessons.
She matriculated in 2008, and then didn’t enroll at college.
Ines’ career
Ines launched her career aged 18, when she moved to Ibiza, Spain and began dancing for DJs there; she soon befriended French music producer and DJ Pierre David Guetta, who helped her with her career.
She was 23 when she posed nude for the French luxury magazine “OOB” in 2013, together with American model and actor Tyson Beckford, and May of the following year saw Ines featured in the magazine “Playboy”; the issue was entitled “Evolution” and aimed to spread awareness of gender identities. Ines was only the second transgender person to be featured in the magazine, with the first having been Cossey in 1981.
After having been featured in “Playboy”, Ines modelled for a number of popular designers, including Alex Bittar and Nicole Miller, and was featured in the magazine “Vogue Italia”.

In October 2017, Hugh Hefner’s son Cooper revealed that Ines would be the Playboy Playmate of the Month in the November/December 2017 issue.
Ines is today actively campaigning for LGBT rights.
Presence on the internet
Ines is active on various social media networks, and more than 1.2 million people are following her on Instagram today, while she’s posted over 100 pictures and videos; most of her content shows her during her everyday life, whether she’s attending red carpet events, travelling around the world or working out at the gym.
Ines launched her Twitter account in August 2015, but has yet to tweet; the account’s nevertheless followed by close to 250 people.
Her Facebook page is today followed by more than 8,500 people, but Ines’ most recent update was a new cover photo on 23 October 2017.
More than 14,000 people are following Ines on TikTok, and she’s amassed more than 23,000 likes of all her content combined, most of these showing her during her everyday life.

Ines isn’t active on the video sharing service YouTube, but is nevertheless popular because numerous videos about her have been posted by other users; most of these are about her transition from male to female, while others aim to cover her success as a model. We’re about to write about three of the most viewed videos amongst these, as they’ve contributed to Ines’ popularity.
Her #1 video “10 Celebridades Mujeres Que Nacieron Hombres” was uploaded by TopMax on 14 April 2017, and has since been viewed close to 25 million times; it features 10 successful models who were previously male.
Her second most popular video “Is Kylian Mbappe dating a transgender women Ines Rau?” was uploaded by Was84Fc on 2 September 2022, and has since been watched close to two million times; this short video has amassed over 30,000 likes, and covers whether or not famous French soccer play Mbappe was dating Ines.
Her #3 video “LA NOVIA DE MBAPPE ES TRANSGENERO – La verdad sobre KYLIAN MBAPPE e INES RAU!” was uploaded by Otro Futbol on 2 September 2022, and has been viewed nearly a million times; it also covers the rumors regarding Mbappe and Ines.
Love life and relationships
Ines avoids speaking about her love life in public, but has opened up about a single man whom she’s been with. In 2015, Ines began dating American actor and stuntman Staiv Gentis; he’s appeared in only five movies, and is perhaps known best for playing Control Room Soldier in the 2017 action fantasy adventure movie “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”, which was nominated for 11 awards. Ines and Staiv were in a relationship for three years.
In January 2022, Ines was spotted spending time with soccer player Mbappe, while he was also spotted carrying her in his arms; the two seemed very happy together, but neither has addressed the rumors of them dating.
Ines seems to be unattached as of June 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
