Cooper Archibald Manning was born in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, on 6 March 1974 – his zodiac sign is Pisces, and he holds American nationality. He’s an entrepreneur and TV personality, who’s probably known best for the work which he’s done for the channels Fox Sports, especially for hosting his own show “The Manning Hour”.
Early life and education
Cooper was raised in New Orleans alongside his younger brothers Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, who both became star footballers, by their father Archie Archibald Manning III, who’s an American former football quarterback and who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 years, and their mother Olivia Manning who was a model.
Cooper grew up looking up to his father and wanting to become a professional Football Player. He started playing the sport as a wide receiver while attending Isidore Newman School, and attracted a lot of attention during his senior year, and thanks to his skill, Cooper was offered a scholarship from the University of Mississippi; while he was there for practices during summer, he felt numbness in his toes and fingers, and was told by doctors that he was suffering from spinal stenosis, and this marked the end of his football dreams.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1996.
Following graduation, Cooper became a partner at the energy investment boutique Scotia Howard Weil, which has offices in both New Orleans and Houston. It organizes an annual energy conference which is attended by representatives of top-level investors, both private and public energy companies, and various other companies; Cooper quit being a partner after having launched his career as a TV personality.
In January 2012, he hosted his own segment “Manning on the Street” of the syndicated radio and TV sports talk-show “The Dan Patrick Show”, then on 13 September 2015, Cooper joined the sports TV program “Fox NFL Kickoff” as one of their sportscasters.
Cooper began working at the private real estate company Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners in 2014, and it was two years later that he became their principal and senior managing director of investor relations, thus joining the executive team; for the job, he had to move to Chicago, Illinois.
Most recently, in 2021, Cooper hosted the student quiz show “College Bowl” together with his brother Peyton.
Cooper has a single voice acting credit: he voiced himself in the 2009 episode “Oh Brother, Where Bart Thou?” of the critically acclaimed animated comedy series “The Simpsons”, created by James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Sam Simon, and which stars Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright and Harry Shearer.
It follows the lives of members of a working class family from the city of Springfield, and has been airing since 1989, winning 213 awards including 35 Primetime Emmys, while it has been nominated for 340 other awards.
Cooper is more or less active on his Instagram account ‘The Cooper Manning’, and it’s today followed by close to 5,000 people, while he’s uploaded nearly 30 pictures onto the network. Most of these have been taken during his everyday life, and thus reveal many things about Cooper, including that he enjoys wearing costumes, and doesn’t usually skip on an opportunity to attend a Halloween party.
He’s also revealed that he’s passionate about travelling, and his career has taken him to many US states, while Cooper has also vacationed in Europe on a number of occasions; his dream travel destination seems to be London, England.

He’s been married to the American lawyer Ellen Heidingsfelder since 1999; she’s from New Orleans, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, and a Master’s degree from Loyola University’s Law School.
Cooper and Ellen have three children – their daughter May played volleyball while attending the all-girls Catholic high school Academy of the Sacred Heart, and has recently enrolled at the University of Virginia; in 2020, May and her Sacred Heart volleyball team won the Louisiana State Volleyball Championship. Cooper and Ellen’s older son Arch is playing quarterback at the Isidore Newman School, while their younger son Heid plays center at the same school.
Cooper hasn’t spoken of any other women whom he has perhaps been with, and as of March 2022, he’s married to Ellen Heidingsfelder, and they have three children together.
Hobbies and other interests
Even though he had to give up on football, Cooper didn’t stop being physically active, and during his 20s and 30s had multiple training sessions at the gym every week. He rarely works out nowadays, but still enjoys an occasional game of tennis or golf with his friends.
Cooper is a fan of stand-up comedy, and his favorite performer is the late Robin Williams.
He has worked with a couple of charity organizations which aim to improve the quality of life for war veterans and underprivileged children, while he has also donated money to several animal shelters.
Cooper enjoys watching Hollywood movies in his spare time, and his favorite actor and actress are Tom Cruise and Kate Winslet, while a couple of his favorite movies include “The Last Samurai”, “Top Gun” and Titanic”.
