Who is Luis Armand Garcia?
American former actor Luis Armand Garcia was born in LaGrange, Illinois USA, on 9 March 1992, making Pisces his zodiac sign. He’s appeared in only four TV series and no movies, and is probably known best for having starred as Max Lopez in all 120 episodes of the comedy series “George Lopez”, which also starred Constance Marie and George Lopez, and was created by Robert Borden. It follows the life of a manufacturing plant manager from Los Angeles, California, the series aired from 2002 through 2007 and won 10 of its 42 award nominations.
Education and early life
Luis was raised in Chicago, Illinois alongside his five siblings, by their mother Brenda Garcia and father whose name hasn’t been disclosed; it’s believed that Luis’ father was a mailman, and his mother a housewife.
He studied at a local elementary school in Chicago, and was eight when he made his debut TV series appearance, portraying Jason in the 2000 episode “Flight of Fancy” in the romantic drama “ER”, which starred Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies, and which Michael Crichton created. The series revolves around Chicago’s County General Hospital and the lives of people working in it, it aired from 1994 through 2009, and won 156 of the 520 awards for which it was nominated.
Although focused on acting, Luis still excelled at school and was amongst the best students there, as he had all A’s in high school, and was physically highly active, as he was on the school’s football team and also played golf and skateboarded. He was 14 when he began selling his own skate wear, while he then became involved with a number of charity organizations, including American Heart Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation and his own Hands on Horses charity.
He matriculated in 2010, and then enrolled at college, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2014.
Luis retired from acting in 2007, after having appeared in three TV series, and has only returned to the film industry just recently in 2022.
Acting credits
In 2006, Luis portrayed Max in the episode “Freddie Gets Cross Over George” of the comedy series “Freddie”, which starred Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jacqueline Obradors, and was created by Bruce Helford and Conrad Jackson. It follows a successful chef as he’s living with his Latina grandmother, widowed sister-in-law, niece and older sister in Chicago, and the series was nominated for a 2006 ALMA Award for Outstanding Script for a Television Drama or Comedy.
Luis returned to acting in 2022, when cast to play Louie in the episode “Lopez vs. Christmas” of the popular short comedy series “Lopez vs. Lopez”, which starred Mayan Lopez and George Lopez, who also created it; it follows a dysfunctional working-class family as they’re trying their best not to fall apart.

Love life and relationships
Luis rarely shares the details of his love life with the public, which is why there’s only a single woman whom he’s been with, that we today know about.
In the second half of the 2000s, Luis was in a relationship with American fashion designer Tyra Simmons; it’s believed that they met during the final year of the series “George Lopez”, as Tyra designed clothes for the show, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
Luis and Tyra have son Max Garcia together, and it’s believed that they’re equally involved in his upbringing, although Luis and Tyra broke up after being together for less than two years.
Luis seems to be unattached as of July 2023, hasn’t married and has a son with former girlfriend Tyra Simmons.
Interesting facts and hobbies
Luis was arrested for disorderly conduct in 2012, after his neighbors called the police because he had thrown a party at his home; he was found drunk and immediately arrested, but was released only a couple of hours later.
Luis has been a philanthropist since his early teenage years, and is currently mostly focused on working with the organization American Foster Children; he once took part in a charity event during which he toured around the USA with Raven, John Travolta and Ellen DeGeneres.
He loves to play golf, and competed in a celebrity golf tournament.
Luis loves animals and occasionally volunteers at a local animal shelter; his favorites are elephants, and he has several pet dogs and cats.
Keanu Reeves and Robert Duvall are Luis’ favorite actors, and some of his favorite movies are the trilogy “Matrix”, “Secondhand Lions” and the trilogy “The Godfather”.
