Who is Inbar Lavi?
Israeli actress Inbar Lavi was born in Ramat Gan, Israel, on 27 October 1986, making Scorpio her zodiac sign. She has 34 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring as Maddie in all 20 episodes of the 2017 crime comedy series “Imposters”, which also starred Rob Heaps and Parker Young, and was created by Paul Adelstein and Adam Brooks. It follows a woman who marries wealthy men and then disappears with their money – the series won one of its two award nominations.
Inbar’s currently shooting for three upcoming movies: “Bau, Artist of War”, “Vronika” and “Black Diamond”.
Education and early life
Inbar was raised in Ramat Gan by her Jewish parents who were originally from Holon; her father’s of Polish descent, while her mother’s of Moroccan ancestry. Inbar is believed to be an only child, as she hasn’t spoken about any siblings.
She struggled with asthma while growing up, and had to use a nebulizer for at least an hour every day; Inbar watched movies and TV series during that time, and this was how she fell in love with acting. Her favorite actress around that time was Natalie Portman, and her favorite movie the 1994 action thriller “Leon: The Professional”; Inbar also looked up to Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer.
She studied at Kiryat Sharet High School in Holon and was passionate about dancing during her time there, practicing both modern and ballet. Inbar eventually moved to Tel Aviv, Israel and transferred to Sophie Moskowitz School of Acting, from which she matriculated in 2004.
She then moved to New York City USA, and began appearing in off-Broadway plays; Inbar moved to Los Angeles, California by the end of 2004, and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute on a scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008.
Roles in movies
Inbar’s debut film role was playing Shalev in the 2008 short drama “Synonymous”, then the year 2010 saw her play Alana in the action adventure “Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire”, which starred Inbar Lavi and Kevin Sorbo, and was directed by Albert Pyun. It follows a princess who’s trying to unite five warriors to help her defend her kingdom from a demon sorceress.
Some of Inbar’s following roles were in the action crime thriller “Street Kings 2: Motor City”, the romantic comedy “Getting That Girl”, and the horror “Underground”, all released in 2011. In 2012, she portrayed Talia, one of the main characters in the crime thriller “For the Love of Money”, which also starred Edward Furlong and Steven Bauer, and was directed by Ellie Kanner. It follows a man who’s decided to leave a life of crime behind him, but now might return to his old ways because his family’s in danger.
Inbar went on to play Emma in the 2013 horror thriller “House of Dust”, Sonia in the 2015 action fantasy adventure “The Last Witch Hunter”, and Lori Wall in the 2018 comedy “Sorry for Your Loss”.
Her only other film role has been starring as Sarah in the 2021 romantic drama “Eight Gifts of Hanukkah”, which also starred Jake Epstein and Sheila Tyson, and was directed by Mark Jean. It follows optometrist Sarah who’s receiving a gift for each night of Hanukkah from a secret admirer, and the movie won a 2022 Joey Award for Best Principal or Supporting Actress in a TV Movie 9 Years & Up (Alice Rose).
Roles in TV series
Inbar’s debut TV series role was playing Fiona in the 2008 episode “All About Honesty” of the comedy “Privileged”, and she could then have been seen appearing in single episodes of the crime mystery “The Closer”, the fantasy “Ghost Whisperer”, and the comedy “Entourage”.
In 2012 and 2013, she played Raviva in the drama “Underemployed”, which starred Michelle Ang and Diego Boneta, and was created by Craig Wright; it follows five friends who’ve just graduated from college and have decided to live together.
In 2014, Inbar starred as Veronica ‘Vee’ Dotsen in all 13 episodes of the crime action “Gang Related”, which also starred Jay Hernandez and Ramon Rodriguez, and was created by Chris Morgan. It follows the life of police officer Ryan Lopez, who’s secretly passing info on to gang boss Javier Acosta; the series was nominated for a 2015 Imagen Foundation Award for Best Primetime Television Program – Drama.

Inbar’s three most recent TV series roles have been in three episodes of the 2020 crime drama “Stumptown”, 14 episodes of the crime fantasy “Lucifer” from 2019 through 2021, and 12 episodes of the 2022 action thriller “Fauda”.

Inbar sang various songs in three episodes of the 2012 series “Underemployed”.

She exchanged vows with Israeli businessman Dan Bar Shira in Israel on 13 September 2021, and the two are today living together in Los Angeles; they met at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada in August 2019. Dan’s today working in green energy.
The wedding ceremony was private, with only their family members and closest friends in attendance; it took place at Alhayam Beachside in Sdot Yam, as Inbar and Dan’s families love the Mediterranean. The theme was a mix of Burning Man and Tulum, and many pictures taken during the ceremony can be found uploaded onto Inbar’s Instagram account.
There are no other men whom Inbar’s been with, that her fans know about; she’s married to Dan Bar Shira as of June 2023, and doesn’t have children.

She works out at the gym nearly every day, thus her slim figure; Inbar’s also following a strict diet, as it’s important for her acting career not to gain weight.
She’s done some modelling work, but sees it as a hobby rather than a job.
One of Inbar’s favorite actresses is Jodie Foster, and some of her favorite movies include “The Silence of the Lambs”, “Bugsy Malone” and “Taxi Driver”.
She was to be drafted into the Israeli Army in 2017 as a VIP driver, but eventually wasn’t due to health reasons.
