Heather was actually raised in the mountains of Montana by her parents Dan and Phyllis Trotta, but she hasn’t shared much about them, as she prefers to keep them away from the media’s attention. Heather is an only child.
She grew up being physically active, which is quite common for children living in the mountains. Her father is partly credited with this, as he often took her cycling and taught her how to shoot, use tools, set up camps, and numerous other things – as he doesn’t have a son, he taught her as if she was his son.

Her second biggest passion is vintage cars which is the reason why she began hosting the “Garage Squad” TV show in the first place – she can often be seen attending car shows all around the US, and most of the pictures uploaded onto her Instagram account feature cars.
Heather enjoys spending her free time in the nature surrounded by trees and mountains as that’s what she grew up surrounded by – she’s visited many national parks in numerous countries, and still does this whenever she travels to a new country.
